Linking highlighting style to notebook - is this possible?

I am currently working on a couple of projects at the same time. In each of them I am making notes in a Logos notebook, a different one for each project.

To distinguish project notes from each other I am using a different highlighting style for each project.

However, when creating a note Logos reuses the last highlighting style. So when I switch from project to project I also need to reset the highlighting style.

If it were possible to set a default highlighting style per notebook it would make this much easier.

Is there a way to do this that I am missing?

If not, do you think this would be a helpful change?

It did behave something similar to this under the old notes system Graham but it does not seem to under the new note system. I could have a different default style for each notebook but under the new note system there is longer a separate 'phyical notebook', only a virtual one and it does not seem to have a seem to allow for a default sytle per 'virtual notebook', like it did when the notebooks where 'phyical notebooks'.

It's one of the features of the really practical features of the old note system that has been lost that needs to be restored, so i agree with you Graham that htis would be helpful change to the current notes system.

Unfortunately, I am on my work and not my home computer right now, so I can't check this out, but before, and I think you still can... You can right click on the title of your highlighting palette and tell it which notebook to put the items highlighted with that palette in. If the styles are in the same palette, you can just create two separate palettes for just those styles to separate the notebooks. I will try this out after work this afternoon or on my lunch break, but if you do this, then anything you highlight with that palette will go to the designated notebook.

If I am totally missing the point, I will not be offended if someone points it out to me. Like I said, I am not on my home computer and able to check it out right this minute. Carla

While your approach is a great one for highlighting it doesn't work where I am creating a note. That gives me a relatively limited range of icons to choose from and no way to associate them with particular notebooks.

The issue I am having here is the reverse - of wanting to use a particular notebook and always have the same icons associated with notes I create in that notebook.

I completely understand. I have chafed at the lack of icon and color choices available for notes as well. It would be nice, if we had infinite choices for each notebook like we do for highlighting styles. Where we could select our own images and then have them appear for each notebook. Or at least have a much wider selection. And it would be nice to have a default for each notebook. I am always having to go back and reset the styles in a notebook when notes have gone in with the last icon and I did not catch and change it at the time I took the note. Thanks for starting this discussion.
