Craig - This is great news!

Out of curiosity, is there still the intention to get the Latin edition of the Liturgia Horarum into the Verbum?

    Now we need:

    • the 2nd year of scripture readings as given in the Christian Prayer volume
    • integration into a restored liturgical ribbon
    • integration into the lectionary/missal layout ... don't forget to give us the right psalms ...

Sorry, I'm just never satisfied. But I truly thank you for getting this one done.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Made my pre-order 👍

    Oh good! Thank you!

Now if only the present Sample Pages weren't so dramatically different from the liturgical text itself.

Anybody else thinking “I WANT IT NOW!!!” ? 😉

Well I preordered even though I have the 4 volume set in hard copy.  I will be interested in how it is presented.

Same here. I also use an iPad app. But it would be nice to have it work like the Missal in Verbum so I can have it with the rest of the daily devotionals I have on my iPad home page.

    Great to see!

Does this resource include the translation of the Psalms, or is it pulling the Psalm text from one's preferred Bible translation?

I‘m pretty sure it would be the official translation, much like the lectionary for Mass is.

Yes, it will include the psalms from the four-volume text, which are the Grail psalms.

Does it mean that the user will not be able to choose his favourite translation, possibly not English? (i.e. hebrew or Spanish)

Will the patristic lectures be linked to the library?

    Thanks

Thanks Craig, this is great news that you are including the Grail psalms. Will there be an option for other translations also?

I went to the order page, but I don't see anything of the 'prayer interface.'  I really hope that you truly have a "streamlined" approach with no flipping and jumping, but I don't want to drop $90 hoping that you did it better than the free breviaries out there.  What makes this better than the free apps?

I’ll be happy if it works like the Missal, but we’ll see. Hopefully we’ll get the preview before we get the bill

An additional feature that would be useful would be a pre-defined highlight template/palette for pointing the psalms for plainsong - Sarum and Gregorian at least. If designed using only standard typographic features, it could have the additional new feature of being able to be included in the exported print file.

I'm quite a newb to all of this as I have never used the four volume set, but was introduced to the Christian Prayer book when I took part in daily life at John Michael Talbot's Little Portion hermitage/monastery.  And that was/is still confusing. My solution was in discovering www.divineoffice.org and then getting their app.  everything flowed in order as it should which made it far more devotional and enjoyable for me. will this have similar function?  Was hard for me to determine that from the screenshots above.

    I like Apples.  Especially Honeycrisp.

I would doubt it as it was advertised as the resource "The Liturgy of the Hours" not as a new tool or workflow.

    So excited about this one!!!!

hoping the book of blessings and other sacramental rites (marriage/baptism/funerals/etc) will follow.  This will make Verbum a one stop shop for liturgy prep and research!

    Hi,
I know this is an old chat, but I was wondering if anyone who has the LOTH, would be able to give me the milestone code that is used in the resource, if there is any?

Calendar date, Catholic liturgical date, volume/page
