Well after all the speculation it's here on Monday, October 26.
Help with our sermons and counseling... Let's look under the hood.
Stay tuned!
Yep, just noticed it!
I'm sure the reason it is showing All Features is that I am a Faithlife Connect subscriber.
Looks like one of my suggestions actually made it in… A visual filter toggle button. Thanks Faithlife!
Initial observations:
Initial observations: Factbook much improved - responsive and does original languages. Dark Mode... I don't use but it's a nice option to have. Seems a little snappier.
This post needed a spoiler alert. smh lol
Any changes to the Home Page? I'm hoping for improved Lectionary functionality.

I hope I am not breaching protocol or spoiling FL's thunder! But I figured if not me, someone else would soon let the cat out of the bag. But having spied out the land, I am bringing back a good report. Perhaps others might have another take on things. But the changes don't seem to be overwhelming, which seemed to be from the L9 suggestions, what most people were hoping for with this release.
Not yet ... but Faithlife has admitted a lack of expertise in liturgical calendars and such and is making a serious effort to overcome it. I expect to see progress over the next few years.
Actually, all I really want is a faster way to link multiple panels than having to do them one by one from the panel menu. Like seriously that would be a game-changer.
Yes, you can add your lectionary to the Dashboard area.
I didn't use the homepage much in L8 but it seems much more snappier/usable and no advertisements.

Question: are you a Connect subscriber? I'm not, and my Logos is not showing any information about 9 yet--which is what I would expect given I haven't bought anything yet.
I'm looking forward to spending the next couple days pouring over the denominational base packages to figure out which one best rounds out my systematic theology library. [:)]

I agree, that can be tedious.
Yes I am a connect subscriber. Automatic updates are one of the benefits.
Looks slightly snappier (i7 16gb ssd computer)Really like the Sermon Manager feature (well done FL), there's a "Preach" button in the sermon editor that looks like an interesting feature (will have to give it a go). The sermon editor seems to be better now.On the whole, it seems like a QOL upgrade and not a "This is a fundamental rework" change. Slightly disapointed if this is all we'll get. That being said this might be a soft roll-out or they might have taken the Logos 9 development process to focus on other things that usually fly under the radar like the engine (time will tell) and webapp functionalities. Don't get me wrong I think Logos is a mature product and therefore the improvements are really hard to be mind-blowing, it's just that the child in me wanted to get the brand new BMX.
Thinking of other mature products like the Iphone, we see the same thing happening where year on year development is very incremental. The last big change was the Iphone X
On the whole, it seems like a QOL upgrade and not a "This is a fundamental rework" change.
Logos 8 gave us a major revamp. I am more than happy for Logos 9 to simply enhance and improve upon what is already there with some new stuff in the mix.
Been looking through the new sermon editor.Faithlife please bring back the word counter on the top and the ability to hide the slides PLEASE!
Me too, I sincerely hope they would shift some resources to focusing on getting the Android/IOS app a little bit more love.
the ability to hide the slides PLEASE!
Yes please!
Also, noticing that Mac dictation doesn't work in the notes tool or sermon editor... this is a must for me.
Faithlife please bring back the word counter on the top
This is now in the new Info tab - available on the right of the sermon document.
and the ability to hide the slides PLEASE!
There is a Show Slides toggle in the panel menu
word count is still there just moved. Look under the info circle on the right side of the editor. It will open up a new pane.
Logos downloaded some updates (resources and datasets) for me but L9 has not been downloaded or installed. [:'(]

Do you have a Logos Connect subscription?
Yes, I have a Connect subscription.
did you restart the app to apply updates after they finished downloading?
Yes, I have restarted the app several times. I also used the command "update now".
Or could this be because I am on the beta channel?
That would do it. Try switching to the stable channel - set update channel to stable

This worked. Many thanks.
Oh thank you....that was relief [:D]
Have you tried out the Passage Guide yet? [:D]
Have you tried out the Passage Guide yet?
Yes it does seem more robust... love the ability to sort by categories and the longer thumbnails.
L9 download seems to work fine, in spite of high load of orders:
