Logos 9 is Here

I was doing my devotions and studies this morning and Logos suddenly downloaded an update... Logos 9 is here and I guess I didn't realise I had a choice!

A slightly modified icon, some other tweaks I see, but nothing majorly impactful for my workflows. The biggest thing I was happy to see is the commentary section in the passage guide have some segmentation, particularly around eras.  I had already prioritised my library to do this, but it is nice to have this feature finally.

I was hoping to see some stuff for liturgically oriented church people, but haven't seen it yet.  And no, it has not been rebranded as 'Faithlife' Bible Software.

My theory on the 'unbounded' is that collections are going to change substantially.  We will see in a few hours, but regardless, Logos 9 is here.

May I assume you are a Connect customer? Have you looked at the Sermon Manager yet or are sermons and lessons outside you normal use?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Yes I am.  I thought with Connect I just got incremental, not major upgrades.  I did look at Sermon Manager and I think it looks a bit different, but I don't use it.

A few changes I spotted, but didn't spend a lot of time this morning...

    - on an English Bible there is now a Factbook Visual Filter. When you hover over certain words you get a popup of possible Factbook leads. The Factbook window seems to be reformatted. I my initial impression was positive.

    - there appears to be a Counselling Guide - maybe it was there before because I don't always use every feature as I tend to focus mostly on Exegesis or research.

    - there is a 'dark mode' now, but I don't ever use that.

There was a whack of new and updated resources downloaded too, so I am sure there is much more than what meets the eye initially.

Connect subscribers get all updates incuding major updates. That is one among many 'benefits'  of connect membership. If you wanted to stay on 8 as a connect subscriber you have to turn off automatic updates.

Non-connect subscribers have to purchase major updates or wait till FL makes the free base engine upgrade avaiable, normally a couple of months down the track.

Yeah, I sort of remember this now... there were no bugs or noticeable speed reductions in what I was working on this morning, so I am happy so far with the upgrade. (I often wait at least a few weeks to see what emerges on the forums)

Sermon editor  looks like it morphed into 2 tools, Manager and Builder. Love the Sermon Manager startup with the list of sermon Docs in one spot.
Also noticed a "draw on screen" option I dont recall being there previously in the main program menu, also noticed the link to forums in the same menu is gone

I think I'm stuck in Logos 8... I paid to upgrade to the starter package... which I was told gives me Logos 9. Money is paid....

Do I download a new program or what to get Logos 9?

Is there a way to tell (in Logos program) what package, version I have?
