Help Searching/Indexing Personal Books

Searching the forums, it seems this may not be an uncommon issue, but unfortunately, none of the responses I found, helped.

I am creating a Personal Book for my illustrations. I have set it up the documennt following these instructions: https://wiki.logos.com/Sermon_and_Illustration_Support

The document builds without error, and parses the scripture references properly, but I'm not abe to search the document. I have tried rebuilding indexes without any luck. When I search my documents by scripture or topic, I get zero results.

Any suggestions as to what I'm missing?

Welcome to the forums! [:)] Sorry you are having troubles. [:s]

Can you give a screenshot of what you are trying to do?

Sure thing! Thanks for the quick response [:)]

The parsed document has a table like this...

    My search looks like this...

    Hopefully that makes sense...

Yes, a screenshot would help. What exactly are you searching for? If you use the table as laid out in the wiki, Logos will automatically create an index at the end of the book - all bible references you put into the tables are listed there.

I just tried sharing a screenshot, but the forum flagged it for spam when I edited it...

The index might be the thing. Now that you mention it, the first time I built the book I saw the index. It doesn't seeem to have one at the moment. It just ends after the last illustration. I wonder if something is preventing the index from being created.

Hm. If you could share a portion of your file, say the first three or five illustrations (you can replace the real illustration text with "lorem ipsum" or such if you are not free to share it, but leave the tables, headers and styles intact) so others could have a go at it.

Sure you included the first lines of the table?

I wouldn't expect a media search to find illustrations (they are text, aren't they?) - if your putting pictures in, that's a whole different story and you might want to use tags or such.

You're right, they are text. The media search was a mistake on my part. I was trying to do a simple search to verify the index was working. Would you be able to suggest a basic way to confirm that? They should normally show up in a guide like Passage Guide, correct?

    Indexing is working.

It seems people use collections, to get these books to appear the in the guides, right? I'll try that next
