What were you most excited to see in Logos 9? Positive feedback

I thought I would start a positive thread... Smile

I was initially really excited to see the Lexham Context Commentary because it is something I had thought about purchasing when it first came out, but that's personal to me more likely than most.

I also think the Counseling Guide will be helpful for pastors that aren't particularly gifted toward counseling build empathy in areas they aren't experienced with. This is a win for the body of Christ in my mind.

I am super pumped about the updated Factbook and the Counseling Guide! The Counseling Guide will be immensely helpful for me. When I saw that, I upgraded immediately to have that functionality. Counseling is an area where I know as a pastor I am deficient, so to have this resource will be so helpful!

The Factbook revamp and the Factbook visual filter are both pretty neat. I like the new emphasis upon the Factbook as a hub for information now.

Two thumbs up to Faithlife for Logos 9! (Again, the new counseling direction was brilliant.)

Carta and Dark Mode are the things I'm most excited about.

Images in Notes is nice although I'm still hoping that embedded tables can be added at some point. That would complete my must have features for Notes.

AGREED! Aside from a few issues, things have been VERY smooth, and the positive feedback has been very pleasant. I'm sure the FL staff are pleased about this! And Bob, too! LOL

Many of my wishlist items and pre-pubs were included in my tier package (I got Verbum Platinum for now, and hope to eventually work my way back up to Ultimate).

I was a little disappointed that my most recent purchases of 8 libraries didn't count for credit like it did in 7, but it's entirely possible I missed the window for that.

Yes. The Carta collection downloaded with the upgrade. I had just Sacred Bridge on preorder. Curious why it hasn't just shipped to everyone since it's ready.

I also had it on prepub and got the upgrade to L9 automatically with my Connect subscription. I upgraded to L9 Platinum, and I think the upgrade Platinum-Platinum probably came to no more than the cost of the Carta resources. I haven’t checked, but i don’t think there was much in it.

I'm most excited about having the reverse interlinear for the NET bible. I love the NET bible and having the interlinear dataset makes it much more useful in Logos! I'm also very happy about getting the Lexham Research Commentaries as part of the Platinum package. These commentaries are (understandably) quite expensive and I never saw enough discount to justify buying them.

FL normally holds back on PrePubs and such that are in base packages. I believe that this is to reduce refunds processed and improve customer satisfaction.

Overall, a good update. Didn't appear to break anything major... my favourites are:

Factbook - particularly as they build out and develop it in the weeks to come. The entries for the Books of the Bible are huge time savers.
Greek Grammar Ontology: Another big time saver.
The Passage Guide Update to the Commentary section: We have needed this since version 5.0, particularly type and era.
Interlinear for the NET Bible: The translator notes for this Bible are very useful and being tagged was long overdue.
Notes Improvements: A useful evolution as I tend to use these more and more.
Reading Plans - useful for having a number of books on the go.
Mobile Improvements - great to see some useful evolution of the mobile apps... seems to be more and more less like a cut down mobile reader.

The sermon/homily builder and management stuff looks cool, but I won't use it. The counselling guide will probably be useful on occasion, but I can see how both of these will add real value to certain types of users.

That's called the Factbook Visual Filter. [:)] It covers persons, place, and things. Eventually Faithlife wants to have to cover even more stuff.

I'm a part of several different FB groups for Logos and FL, and I continue to see in numerous posts the excitement and satisfaction users are experiencing. Saw 4 or 5 just this morning. Again, I think this has overall been the smoothest Logos release that I can remember.

One thing I just discovered in the Mobile iOS app was the “save for later” option. Allows me to bookmark passages I want to cite later without making my bookmarks list 3 miles long 🙂

LOLOL...sorry, but this made me belly laugh. A reverse interlinear for NET??? ROTFL!! Well, does this means FL won the Fields Medal? What you are saying is akin to saying FL managed to make 1=9. It only takes a few minutes of reading the NET notes to confirm that the NET translation team has never met an emendation they didn't like, sometimes 2-3 emendations in a single verse. Unless 1 really can equal 9, I can't comprehend how a reverse interlinear could work. Does it account for the endless emendations in its translations? If not, then the RI is basically a pack of lies.

We shipped Logos v1.0 29 years ago, so it's good that the process is now "VERY smooth". I think the secret is that I have less direct responsibility for each successive release! :-)

Our team has done a fantastic job, and I am so proud of what they're doing.

I miss being in the forums almost daily, but the team is taking good care of Logos and freeing me up to work on our innovative new Integrated Ministry Platform (https://equip.faithlife.com), which I'm very excited about. And you'll see even more integration of Logos and Faithlife Equip in the coming months.
