Interesting situation. With the current state of the tagging, which I know will get better soon. I actually had better results opening the new Factbook, entering my term, and choosing counseling theme from the drop-down menu. I now have a new L9 reading plan for a book I found in my library that was just what I was looking for. The number of resources it brought up was still limited as I have 5X as many resources in my library on that topic than what it did bring up, but It was a good start and had more information, especially Bible Passages than the Counseling Guide.
I am not gripping or complaining, just reporting on what I found. I am eagerly anticipating the full build-out of the Counseling Guide. I have great hopes for it.

It seems the Verbum packages don't come with any of these resources.
The Verbum packages--at least some of them--definitely come with relevant resources that I am sure will be tagged for the Counseling Guide. That just hasn't happened yet.

It seems the Verbum packages don't come with any of these resources. I am trying to decide on a package to buy and based on this information it seems the counseling guide would not be usable within Verbum. I'd have to buy a Logos package to have any of the connected resources.
Verbum Silver Feature Upgrade includes the Counseling Ontology (https://verbum.com/compare/featuresets), but I'm not sure about the various resources. The Clinton Quick Reference Collection would provide be a solid set of content.

I'm glad that strategy is working well for you, though i'm a little puzzled: i'd expect the Factbook information for a Counseling Theme to be about the same as what's in the Counseling Guide. I'd be curious to know what Factbook pages work this way for you.

I agree, I have Jay Adams works, Gary Collins and the Journal of Biblical Counselling and none are coming up. I hope there are plans to expand the guides reach. All in all, Logos has done a great job on L9.

These guides will always be curated in terms of what resources are tagged to work with them which once enough resources are tagged and providing you own those resources will make the great starting points. But there will always be other information in your library beyond what the guides point too and so making use of search collections to get to those resources not curated for the guide will always be necessary and valuable when you want even more depth or breadth of information on a topic.

I understand the choice of starting of with June Hunt resources due to their breadth in order to kick it off. These was a Chaplains base package that was available a number of years ago built around this set. But agree with you both that Jay Adams and Gary Collins are no-brainers in terms of individuals whose writings need to be grafted with urgency into this guide if FL want to target writings n this field are known and respected. And the Journal of Biblical Counselling is another one of those resources that just has to be there. Lots of the target audience will have this through the journal bundles they have picked over the years or because they work in this field and will have it so it's not lilke very few people would have it in their libraries who are either pastors or working in counselling.

- Everything by Jay Adams, especially The Christian Counselor’s Manual: The Practice of Nouthetic Counseling
I'm not quite sure how it would work, but I'd also like the guide expanded to cover counselling methods, rather than just topics. For example, Counselling: How to counsel biblically has chapters that cover things such as Developing a Helping Relationship with Counselees and Instilling Hope in the Counselee. These, and many similar methodological chapters, are vital in counselling, and it would be a real help if they could be surfaced in the guide.

I have taken a quick look at the counseling guide with some interest in its development. On one hand I find the connected listing with related as almost a useless tool for my day-to-day work as a licensed therapist (LCSW/LISW/MSW)/D. Min). On the other hand if this tool can be used, simplified, and meaningful then it is likely that my pocketbook will be a bit more open to FL. Limitations of this guide after purchasing hundreds if not thousands of counseling resources from FL seems more than a bit frustrating. After a drive by of the guide it seems to me that, at best, its a high school guide to mental health topics....for the guide to be useful it needs to be, at minimum, a level 100 general guide accessing my resources. You have my interest FL how about adding substance?

Hi everyone, does anyone know when the Journal of Biblical Counselling and other biblical counselling resources will be indexed (correct terminology?) so they show up under "Books From Your Library" in the Counselling Guide? At the moment there are only a few resources showing under "Monographs" for any given counselling topic.

I see that June Hunt's resources are no longer available for purchase. That takes away a big chunk from the Counseling Guide.

I bought the the Quick Scripture Counseling Guides in the December Publisher Spotlight thinking they would appear in the Counseling Guide. They do not seem to be. Does anyone know if there is a list on projected books to be added

We completely missed adding those. They seem like they'd be a great addition.
We'll work on getting them added to the Guide. I'd like to say they'll be available by December 21, but January 11 feels more likely.
