In previous versions of Logos there were links in the app menu to the Forums and the Wiki (see below). With Logos 9 those links are gone. Can they please be added back? I use them all the time.

    Hi

This is NOT in line with Faithlife policy of making things more challenging and never easier for basic users.

    Just joshin...bless you.

Good call Kiyah ... now practice https://feedback.faithlife.com/ which should also be on the menu or in prebuilt shortcuts

And when they get added back, the forums one can be "View Faithlife forums". [:)]

Are you suggesting they have a Faithlife forum?

Actually it seems that it is complicated: https://community.logos.com/forums/

The domain is logos.com, the banner has an image said Faithlife forum, and the text below said Logos forum.

I wish they will retire the Logos forum and has a Faithlife forum. This is barely useable on mobile.

If we launched new forums on a new platform, would you be willing to leave the current forums behind as a read-only archive? Or would it be essential that we move everything over to the new platform?

I personally would be satisfied with read-only archive. But I don't know how much more people out there would want them to be migrated. I tend to think that technically it is doable to migrate the content too.

The mobile experience I was talking about is, at least on iPhone Safari, the forum isn't a "responsive design" that scale with the smaller screen. So the text is extraordinarily small and typing there is very difficult—if you zoom in you need to manually touch it to move it left and right.

Also, the text editor here is doing weird thing on iOS. e.g. try type something wrong and back space and the OS doesn't recognize the word. Say you type "these", backspace 3 steps to "th", type "ose". Then the auto-correction does not recognize you are typing "those", and would think "ose" is some wrong word and try to auto correct that. And for unknown reason it is easy to have hit a space and get double space.

I also imagine it would be a better experience to replace the Logos forum by the Faithlife social network. But I could be wrong.

Yes for read-only forum archive. If practical, populating new Faithlife forum with threads that had replies in the last month would be appreciated.

Also thought about a new wiki.faithlife.com with the old wiki.logos.com also becoming read-only (along with read-only forum archive).

I also imagine it would be a better experience to replace the Logos forum by the Faithlife social network. But I could be wrong.

Having participated in many Logos forum and Faithlife discussions, like Logos forum:

    • Easier to insert image(s)
    • Easier to quote user(s)
    • Quicker to see recent replies

No - an archive is sufficient.

I promise that old-timers will be as curmudgeonly about it as we were at leaving the boards, but it is time for an upgrade.

I’m content with the existing forum, but if we did move, I’d prefer read-only at the existing URL rather than moving everything (as I rely on Google search to find old threads with info I’m looking for).

Just please don’t move us to Faithlife groups. It’s too inconvenient to read, post, and search there.

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

id suggest them to at least share the same backend. With the forum optionally has another front end, basically pulling the forum content in a more forum like form. The reason for this is people who like the Faithlife social network more can use it that way. And for some conversation or quick reply it might be easier way.

sort of like having the same Logos but multiple ways to access it, desktop, web, mobile. Same forum with 2 ways to access it, one on the Faithlife social network, one from a forum like site making for example searching and indexing (by web crawlers such as your friend google) easier.

I grudgingly left the usenet group behind, and have frequently pointed out in ancient posts some of the most glaring problems with this particular platform.  So many extant forum softwares out there handle things more comfortably.  But I've also given up the curmudgeon lifestyle of always managing to complain.

I loved and used the newsgroups.

I love and use the forums.

I'll love and use whatever.  Probably.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Don't waste time and effort on migrating forum content. I'm sure everyone will be happier if you spend that effort on Logos features instead. :-)

So true. I'm sure there's some that will complain. But if this question is asked they will almost always choose Logos (like spend more time on tagging, etc.)

I do have one request, I rely on the email to stay up-to-date in forum threads. But it doesn't have an option to adjust when it sends them to me. It is common in other platforms that they can send a summary email once per day/week. It will be much easier to catch up without the constant distraction.

    Getting back on track

I agree that Forums and Wiki should be put back, together with the new Feedback site. And I would like Faithlife to respond directly in this thread.

    Getting back on track

I'm guessing from their response it might be a deliberate choice to leave it out. They want to have a new wiki and forum and after that they will put the links there.

But I might be overthinking about that.

Thank you. And I agree with Dave, I would love it if there was a link somewhere for feedback.faithlife.com. Right now you just kind of have to know it exists. I don't even think there's a link on the Logos website anywhere.

It's about as well hidden as UserVoice used to be... except with a lot more advertising on the forums, at the moment.

They'll be coming back in the near future. Here's the spec we had:

There were some complications with the flyout menu and the localization considerations, so they didn't make it in the first iteration.

Also, I added a link to Faithlife Feedback in the forums sidebar, and we'll be adding it to Logos.com, Faithlife.com, our apps, and a variety of other places in the near future.

We may also explore adding the embedded feedback widget in various places, where you can leave feedback without leaving the app/site.

It's a no-brainer to add them back in I don't think anyone ever complained about them being there in Logos 8 but there is sure noise generating about them not being there.  When -- 9.1 would suffice it is too much trouble to do it sooner. And making sure the feedback site is important if you really want people to use it and provide feedback.

Looks like this was never implemented. Are there still plans to have a flyout menu with all the links to get help online?
