Copy Styled Verses
This is problem that actually popped up in Logos 8, but I just learned to live with it. I was hoping it was an error that would be remedied in Logos 9, but it is still an issue.
I may just be doing something wrong. I am a long time Logos user and maybe I'm trying to do something an old way that requires some modification in the new versions.
Problem:
I have created a custom style for copied verses. My custom style uses custom MSWord styles that get passed to Word for interpretation. Here is my custom style:
%NoCharFormatting
%NoRedLetter
%NoFootnotes
%NoCitation
%HeaderStyle = VerseHeader
%ForEachVerseStyle = CV2
%FooterStyle= ScriptureRef
=Header
[FullPassageRef] |
=ForEachVerse
[VerseText]
=Footer
([Version])

When I use the "Copy Bible Verses" tool and paste into Word, everything works great. The styles are transferred. I get exactly what I want.
But when I highlight a verse and click "Copy Verse Styled," and then paste, the Word styles do not come through (however the other added features in the Logos style do such as the "|" and the "()" around the version reference).
Why does the "Copy Verse Styled" return a slightly different test string that the "Copy Bible Verses" tool?
Thanks for any help.

I'll have someone take a look. Sounds like a bug.

Thank you. This isn't a terrible problem. I can still get the properly formatted text with the Copy Verses Tool, but it would save a few mouse clicks if the Copy Styled Verse worked. I probably use this scores of times each week. That makes for a lot of mouse clicks after a while. .

Noel,
Can I get what your custom styles are for Microsoft Word? Also, are you just using the simple Copy and Paste or are you pasting special? Any custom settings that you are using would be helpful.

Ok. Thanks!
I'm glad you were able to reproduce the problem. Maybe that means I'm not losing my mind.
I did run into one of more frustrating reasons this is a problem in some work this morning. If I want to copy and paste a verse out of my default Bible version, then I can use the "copy Bible verse tool" and it is just a couple extra clicks. But, if I want to copy a verse out of different Bible version, then I have to adjust the Bible version in the copy Bible verse tool, then copy the verse, then adjust the Bible version back to the earlier version when I am finished.
So, if this could be fixed it would be a wonderful time saver.
If this helps... If I remember right, this broke with the first version of Logos 8.
Noel
