The Quick Start Card shows wrong Commentary but opens as saved Commentary?
Is there a way to get the name correct on the Card?

I am sure that someone will be able to help you out.
I am not sure that I understand the question though :-(
Perhaps it would help to post a couple of screenshots unless somebody with greater understanding drops by in the meantime.
As you can see it names the cards from the first bible skeem book in my prioritized books.
I can change the Commentary and save as a custom layout.
It opens correctly but will never change the Card name.

Yes, the Card is stuck with your preferred commentary. I don't know it would be easy to change, but does it matter when the layout is correct?
