Two oddities in notes under OSX (Catalina)

First, when I click the button to "remove formatting," it turns the text gray, as if that's the default format color, which is very odd. I know how to change the default font and size, but there's no option for color. I end up manually selecting all text and then choosing the font color as black.

That's not right. Black should be the default font color.

Second, OS X allows the typing of accents and such by holding down a keyboard key. I can type š merely by typing s, waiting, and then choosing whether I want ß, ś, or š. Ditto with things like ē, etc. Since I work a lot with semitics, I end up typing transliteration in my notes fairly often, so I was surprised to find out that holding down, e.g. s merely resulted in ssssssssssss.

That also isn't right.

Where are you seeing this?

I can type š merely by typing s, waiting, and then choosing whether I want ß, ś, or š.

I'm seeing expected behavior on my Mac.

Beloved, it looks like you are in the Go Box which does work fine. Ben said it does not work when you are inside a Note typing. I see the same things (works fine in the Go Box, does not work inside of a Note typing).

Not in that screenshot, no. I select all the text (CMD+A), and hit that button. It changes it all to my default font and size, but also changes it to a shade of gray. I then have to reselect all the text and manually change the font color to black.

I have thousands of imported notes from Bibleworks, so any extra steps add up to a LOT of extra time.

Any way to batch process notes?

I now see your point. However, I don't have an issue with the default behavior as the shade of gray is not very much different from black. But if this is a critical issue for you I would see if others support the change you seek. I certainly support FL correcting the issue with graphemes.

OK, two updates, neither great. I emailed tech support and got back a pat reply to post my problems on the board; I thought we got more of a response if we emailed tech support, no? It was frustrating.

Second, since I've had to manually change the text to black, look what happens in night mode. It doesn't invert the text color, so it's barely visible. But it IS visible in the list of notes on the left.
