Copy and Paste feature

I wish I had the feature to copy and paste in my Iphone app...that way
when I am away from my computer, I could copy and paste into an Iphone
note file, email it to myself, and add it to a lesson on my computer
later....I always get some of my best thoughts and findings when I am
away from my computer.   The problem I assume would be the use of the
Iphone copy routine when Logos is using the same touch screen for
different purposes.

We are considering clipboard support for a future version. In the mean time, you can add a favorite from the iPhone and it will sync to Logos 4.

I am a novice to both the iPhone and Logos 4.  Could you give me an example explaining "you can add a favorite from the iPhone and it will sync to Logos 4."?

    Thank you

Let's say you are reading a passage and find that John 3:16 is a nice little verse you'd like to study when you get back to your desktop. So you swipe from the bottom of the screen in an upwards direction on your iphone. The equivalent of a right click menu pops up. One of the options is the "add to favorites". Tap that and it will sync with Logos servers so that the the next time you open the desktop app that will be one of your favorites. You can then copy and paste there to anywhere you want to do so.

BTW a work around is to tap on email in the share menu item. It gives you a ref.ly link. You can copy that ref.ly link into Safari and copy from there. A lot of work to copy but if it is a real necessity, it works.

Would really appreciate the ability to copy the actual text of a verse instead of just sharing the ref.ly link.

Would also like to be able to copy the text of other resources.

"Would also like to be able to copy the text of other resources."

This is what I would like also....I am reading "One Minute after you die"  (I may have the title off a little) book.   I may find a paragraph which I would like to use in a sunday school lesson....I would like to copy the paragraph, paste it into my Iphone notes file and email it to myself so I can add it to my Word notes...this is the original thought I had when I started this thread....

Copy/Paste feature is "slightly" available through the TEXT COMPARISON page.

For example: If you are reading the KJV of John 3:16...

    1.  Slide your finger upwards and a menu will scroll up with various options.  One of these options is "TEXT COMPARISON".

    2.  Use the arrows to move to the verse you want to compare (this will be based on your Top Bible preferences)

    3.  Then, tap the "TEXT COMPARISON" option. You will see that verse in all of your Top Bibles.

    4.  Now, "double tap and hold" on the verse and the "copy" highlight will appear.  NOTE: You can expand to all of the verse versions or just to a few words within the verse.

    5.  Tap "copy" and Voila!

The only drawback is that it does not copy the Book/chapter/verse description (i.e. John 3:16).  But, at least now you can paste it into a note, a text message, an email, etc.

Hope this helps someone. It surely helped me and is a great fix until Logos is able to do a better job at making copy/paste available for the iPhone. [:)]

Please do, on my iPad I even create presentations on Keynote for a weekly study when I am away from my Macbook, it would be great to be able to copy and paste from my references.

    Thanks and Blessings,

In another thread the developer stated the following:

The seemingly plateaued state of the app is because we were hitting the limits of what we could do with small changes and are now working on big changes, specifically integrating the full Logos display engine. Big changes take longer. Notes and highlighting are coming, just not as soon as we would all like. Thanks for your patience.

Basically, they are almost doing a full rewrite of the interface so it is going to be a while before we get new features. It sounds like the iPad app version 1.x is now in the stage of development where they will only do bug fixes when necessary and are working on v. 2 or something like it.

I love Logos 4, but from the standpoint of an iphone user, the iphone app is almost useless without a simple copy and paste feature.  The primary usefulness of any bible app is the ability to copy and paste Scriptures from it, onto a note or email for sermons and bible references on the go. This is far more useful than the features of "add to favorites, word study search" and whatever else a swipe or double tap brings up.  I don't even really use the iphone app because of this severe limitation.  I'm hoping that this will be fixed soon, because normal copy and paste (the same way it works in any other iphone workspace) would make the Logos app the premier bible app.  But as I said, and I believe this reflects the opinion of most pastors and people who use bible apps, the lack of this function is a dealbreaker.  Eagerly awaiting the addition of this feature.
