Which new Wordsearch resources would you like to see first?
Hi All,
As we're working to produce Logos editions of all the new Wordsearch books, we want to prioritize the books that are most important to our users. We plan to prioritize reference works and commentaries, but we would love to hear from you as well.
What resources are you most excited about? What would you like to see us work on first?

- One program I greatly miss from Wordsearch is Adult Questions for Lessonmaker. I see adult questions for lessonmaker index but not the full program. When I can that back?
I made entries for the following in the feedback forums. Please vote for your favorites. It is not an exhaustive list. I got tired before I got done going through the thread and if there was a post with more than three, I only wrote down three. Also, I did not include interlinears or reverse interlinears or Xrefs. If you would like to see other books, please make an entry there. That way you can see when it is Planned and implemented, etc. The more votes, I bet the faster it gets done. Barne's Notes on the New Testament. Need one volume as in Wordsearch; in Logos 8 there are 26 individual volumes.
This resource will stay as multiple volumes in Logos; we won't be building a single-volume version.
They won't show a unified Table of Contents (as WS did), but you can navigate between the multiple resources by entering a reference from another NT book in the reference box at the top of the resource panel.
The most important one to me is

AMG’s Complete Word Study Bible
I hand picked all my Wordsearch content. I started using Wordsearch before they offered packaged levels. So almost everything is important to me.
My priorities are reference works. Interlinears (I have three or four in WS), Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, original language lexicons and so on.
One of the most important of the Interlinears that was a part of my WS is a complete library which has exceptional information offered but is not coded to Strong's numbers. It is called "The Complete Biblical Library" It has no equal. Dictionaries are also very important, for example "Webster's 1913 Unabridged English Dictionary. This dictionary is especially valuable to those of us who use the ASV 1901 translation.
I would like to see commentaries represented by a single icon. Logos does do this with some commentaries but not all. That is why the logos library is so cluttered and time consuming to use. A different icon for every single book, wow. Same with any dictionaries or publications that have a series of books. One representative icon should suffice. IMHO
Some of the books that you have already brought over are rather functionless. I have a book, "Great American Documents," as a part of my Wordsearch Library. It has already been turned into an E-Book. Guess what? There is no table of contents. So unless you remember every document in this book, you cannot access them. Every E-Book should have a functional table of contents. That is just basics.

Our approach to Wordsearch resource conversion is discussed here: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/193938/1117970.aspx#1117970
We wanted to get you the books ASAP, then work on bringing the quality up to our regular standards. So I expect that the Tables of Contents for the EPUBs we automatically converted will be improved in resource updates over the next few months. Thanks for your patience!
The titles which I use regularly in Wordsearch and am awaiting Logos versions are:
my Interlinear Bible (New Testament),
The Strong's Dictionary (KJV, HCSB, and NASB95 can display Strong's numbers)
The Reformation Study Bible (I own this in Wordsearch, but it is not in my Logos library and I know it is for sale in Logos)
Vine's Expository Dictionary
Thank you,
Dan Richardson
The Reformation Study Bible (I own this in Wordsearch, but it is not in my Logos library and I know it is for sale in Logos)
Welcome [:D]
Curious about Wordsearch ID ? Found two Reformation Study Bibles in Catalog listing => https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/catalog
Logos.com has the 2015 edition => Reformation Study Bible Notes (2015) (seem to remember Reformation Study Bible having three editions)
The Strong's Dictionary (KJV, HCSB, and NASB95 can display Strong's numbers)
Searching Logos.com for Strong's Dictionary finds many resources => https://www.logos.com/search?query=strongs%20dictionary&sortBy=Relevance&limit=60&page=1&ownership=all&geographicAvailability=all
Logos (& Verbum) Bible Software uses Original Language lemma for linking resources: e.g. Right Click, click Lemma (ring) has Factbook & Bible Word Study (does not appear for Strong's). A number of explanatory lexicons do not have Strong's numbers (useful for lemma's in other literature, especially lemma's that do not have Strong's number).
Most Reverse Interlinear Bibles have Strong's numbers. Logos Wiki => Reverse-Interlinear/Interlinear Bibles has a list near the bottom.
Vine's Expository Dictionary
Already available in Logos => Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words (is one lexicon that has Strong's numbering indexing & Original Language headword indexing).
Keep Smiling [:)]

Nope, it's linked to the equivalent resource for the Wordsearch content.
Strong's Numbers are available through the right-click menu and Search.

None of my Wordsearch study Bibles have been yet transferred, namely: HCSB Study Bible; Holman Illustrated Study Bible; Holman Illustrated Study Bible Maps; and Apologetics Study Bible. I would like you to prioritize the HCSB Study Bible, the Holman Illustrated Study Bible, and if possible also the Holman Illustrated Study Bible Maps.
Many thanks.

I am so feeling you on this. The HCSB is my primary translation and go to for preaching, teaching, public and private devotions and I feel slighted by its neglect in Logos. I miss the resources that are directly sourced to it.

This sounds like a mismatch of licences to me!
Do you have any of your Wordsearch Resouces?
These are in my library so do not need to be converted by Faithlfe; if you own them in the account you are logged in with they just need to be unlocked.

Ben, any idea when the NIV Study Bibe Notes and Introductions; Dake Annotated Study Bible notes, and Life Application Bible notes will be available? These are critical in my world of ministry/study and would love to have then in my Logos 9.
Thanks for the hard work at FaithLife, and Logos 9 is the bomb!
The process has been going on for a little while now but I am wondering about Titles which are identified with similar names. For instance I purchased as a part of my Wordsearch library quite a few study bibles. Three of them Apologetics Study Bibles. 1. Apologetics Study Bible, The, 2. CBS Apologetics Study Bible for students (this one has already been brought over) 3. Defenders Study Bible, The. I purchased for my Wordsearch library 13 different Study Bibles.
Another concern I have is Interlinear Bibles. The Logos interlinear though very functional does not provide the level of information as my Wordsearch Interlinear Bibles. What I miss in the Logos Interlinear is the Hebrew, Greek and English grammar breakdown of each word. Though the Logos Interlinear provides single letter abbreviations of a words Hebrew, Greek Grammar, it does not tell you what those abbreviations mean when hovered over or selected.
I am curious, will all my interlinear bibles be brought into Logos and will they retain total functionality they possessed in Wordsearch? 1. The Complete Biblical Library Interlinear Bible (this is the most thorough Interlinear bible ever) 2. HCSB Reverse Interlinear Bible 3. Interlinear Bible 4. The AMG Complete Word Study Bible, though not a actual Interlinear, it functioned on the same level as an interlinear providing superior original language dictionary, plus grammatical break down of each word. All accessible by hovering or bringing up in individual windows. At present the Logos version of The Complete Word Study Bible has lost all functionality and is no more that a KJV Bible.
Update on The Complete Word Study Bible: While using this Bible in Logos I found that I was wrong. Several Bibles in Logos are Complete Word Study Bibles and if it were not for the Complete Word Study Bible's Dictionary, there is no need to even purchase it. Still Logos has not retained the English Grammar notes on each of the words in the text. If they have, I have yet to find a quick access to them.
I would have to say that so far the biggest problems I am seeing is in functionality of our Wordsearch Library as it is brought into Logos. Most but not all my library has lost a certain amount of functionality that made Wordsearch my go to program. As a preacher the speed at which I can dig deeply into a text is most important. I do not have time to waste since everything I teach requires many hours of study just to teach one hour.
Enough with the things I believe need improvement. What Logos has done with the ASV is absolutely beautiful. Huge thumbs up. I hope to see much more of this kind of functionality.
Also, when do you plan on offering the NASB2020. I will be purchasing that as soon as you offer it.

They do tell you what the morphology letters mean, in both the in-line and the interlinear pane modes. please see below.
In the in-line mode the info is displayed as a pop-up in the lower (left?) portion of t he screen so it can be overlooked.
in the pane-mode the pop-up will display after a couple seconds of hover.
Thank you for responding to my concerns. And you are correct because I had been over looking it.
Earlier today, I found that feature myself while I was experimenting with my Logos program. Hovering did tell me which each letter in the morphology referred to, but it is not the same. With Wordsearch you may also click on a letter in the morphology and it brings up a separate window explaining the meaning of that part of the morphology and how it may be used in various grammar situations. Very useful stuff for those of us that do not clearly remember what we learned in Greek class 30 years ago or for that matter English class 45 years ago. The little articles bring it all back and I need quick access to that sometimes.
I did find one Bible in Logos that hovering the letters in the morphology did not bring up anything but that is a moot point since I found several that the hovering worked.
Again, thank you for taking the time to take screen shots. That is a lot of work to help a fellow Logos user out.
The NASB95 update, when I select to have the Interlinear to appear, the morphology does not bring up anything when I hover or click on them.
Hmm – I pray you will forgive my ignorance if I have missed something; I rarely delve into the reverse interlinears.
I have opened the NASB (and the ESV and NLT). For all of these I have turned on all the lines.
With the inline display, the only items that have popups are the Strongs Numbers and the Louw-Nida
In the inline panel the 'Morph' line gains a popup along with the other two.

In the Society of Biblical Literature Greek New Testament (SBLGNT) and Lexham English Bible (LEB), Rejoice has visual filters for Present tense (pink highlighter), Imperative (red bold text with yellow outline), Active (pink ax after verb), plus Plural (wavy line over word). AMG has pre (preposition) indicator for in while LEB & SBLGNT have green underline. AMG has an,nn (anarthrous, noun) indicator for Lord while LEB &SBLGNT have dotted underlines for anarthrous. I'm anxious to get The Gospel Project. I had it downloaded onto my desktop and the first year became corrupted. I can't download it from WS anymore. I only need Fall of 2015, Winter of 2016, Spring of 2016, and Summer of 2016. All I need is the first year. I purchased those through Lifeway. How can I get a copy of those? Pretty please?
Please get my Preacher's Outline Sermon Bible Commentary it is the most valuable resource other than the Bible itself.
These are already available: https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/library-migration
Is there something specific you're missing?
I have used Word Search for years and have grown quite fond of it's features and functions. I know we can be conditioned to doing things a certain way and have been opened minded about Logos but it's just not worth it at this point. I understand there is a learning curve to anything new but when I spend over an hour to try and figure out how to do a simple function that took seconds on Word Search it's very disheartening. I understand Logos is a more advance software program but I only have so many hours in a day like everyone else and I can't be spending most of it trying to figure out how to navigate through this non-user friendly program. I have decided to keep using my Word Search software for time purposes. I mean, Word Search had a Strong's numbering system built into the KJV where all I had to do is just hover over the number and "BAM" there it is. Maybe some one on one help could benefit me but once again, how much time will it take. I never had any tutorial's with Word Search; it was that user friendly. I hope you guys can win me back. This may not be the right place for this post but hope it finds it's way to the right person.
How do we know when new titles are added? Do I just once a month go to the store and search?
They will download into your library automatically.
You can also keep an eye on https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/library-migration
My wife nd I know how you feel--we have even attended Logos training seminar with Morris Proctor--still it takes much valuable time when in Wordsearch we could accomplish what we needed in so much less time--seems as though Logos has complicated matters much like when Jesus came to earth, seeing how the simple messages of God were complicated by the teachers of that day.
Word Search had a Strong's numbering system built into the KJV where all I had to do is just hover over the number and "BAM" there it is.
You have an option, a one-click or a two-click solution.
For a one-click solution keep the information panel open with the 'Definition' settings including what you want to look up.
You can reduce this to a one-click solution by setting your system to 'Update on Hover'. Mine is set to 'Update on Click".
The two-click solution requires less screen space. Two-finger click on the trackpad (right-click if using a mouse) and providing Strongs is pre-selected in the left column you can just click on the source you want the definition from.
(ok it might actually be a three-click solution)

Hi
Wouldn't it be more useful to have a list of Wordsearch books "not started" separately. That is more of interest to me as" in progress" I know they will be available soon. Otherwise you have to trawl through the list of all the books to find them. Then we could monitor those not started. But I don't know how hard that would be to produce?
Anyone agree?
Thanks
Steve
I have a Resource that isn't listed on "My research Library in Logos." I am waiting for "Christ-Centered Exposition Commentary" by Tony Merida and edited by David Platt, Daniel L. Akin, and Tony Merida. Can someone tell me if this set of book is going to be transfer over from WS to Logos?
Thanks, Danny: [:D]

These should all be available to you (as Faithlife Ebooks, not Research editions). They don't have the full tagging yet, so they will show up under their individual titles, i.e., Exalting Jesus in (Book), rather than under Christ-Centered Commentary.
I would like to see the Webster's 1913 Unabridged English Dictionary brought over. My main reason is when I use older English translations, it is beneficial to use dictionary from the same time period as the Translation. There is also an 1828 version of the Webster's Dictionary. They both are worth while. I have them both in E-Sword but only the 1913 in Wordsearch.
This Dictionary https://www.logos.com/product/26428/american-dictionary-of-the-english-language
is in this bundle https://www.logos.com/product/26275/the-christian-history-library .
Yea, it is pricy, but a bit more manageable if you have the academic discount.
I have quite a number of books to be migrated from Wordsearch to Logos. Do you have any idea when they will all come over? Thanks
Hi Michael,
We are still working hard to get them delivered. As you may imagine, it's quite a complicated process (much more so than we expected!).
The good news is that about 90% of the books we didn't previously have in Logos are now available in some form (whether ebook, Reader Edition, or Research Edition). Of the remaining books, we are continuing to prioritize the books that are most requested in this forum post.
We're working to get an updated timeline put together so that you can have a better sense of what is coming and when you can expect to see them.
Thanks!

Thanks Ben. Yes I am sure it was a huge undertaking. Thank you for the update.
Logos has added the Wordsearch "Strong's Talking Hebrew Greek Dictionary" to my Logos library. But you know what is funny? It does not talk, which obviously was one of it's unique features.
You did not leave Strong's program but just clicked on a little sound icon next to the Greek or Hebrew word and it would pronounce it for you. Also the "Strong's Talking Dictionary was hot linked directly to Vines Greek / Hebrew words and the "Theological Dictionary of New and Old Testament words. This feature would leave Strong's open and open a new tab Window in the other two dictionaries. Any chance we will get the sound files back in the Strong's Talking Dictionary? And maybe some of the other functions?
I know it is a great undertaking but the commentary, interlinear, original language dictionaries all found in one set called the "Complete Biblical Library" was with out a peer when it came to its interlinear and dictionaries, which are not based on Strong's numbering system. The dictionaries not only gave an historical usage of the words being defined but also a complete Englishmen's search for every word. Plus it gave the different forms of the Hebrew or Greek word being defined. All in one click of the mouse and there it was right in front of you. This is my number one choice for expediting the transition to Logos.
Indeed this resource was fantastic in WordSearch, but I have not really thought it would ever be transitioned to Logos as it is too complicated a process. The two programs have different magnitudes of operation as WordSearch was more the blue collar get it done kind of ministry program whereas Logos has always seemed to be the more academic reflective sort of program.
One is great for the lecture hall church, the other for the upper room Bible study. I will be surprised if we get the Talking to work in this decade. Shalom

https://community.logos.com/forums/t/196897.aspx has a bit of context on this
Hi,
I would request the Dake Bible commentary, and this means it's functionally indexed to the Bible. By the way I'm not the ONLY person who's requested it. I can see, and I suspect most of the requests are just forum posts to try to pacify Wordsearch users. There's no REAL metrics being captured here.
I feel it would be more honest if you wouldn't call a commentary "available" unless it's indexed and functioning with an index, such that changing the book, chapter, verse of an open Bible changes the commentary right along with it.
Having a commentary that's supposed to change or move as you move from book/chapter/verse in the Bible - but doesn't move or change- is like a car without an engine. It's pretty much worthless. Nobody's going to search a Bible commentary that's just like a pdf. That's ARCHAIC to search a pdf for a chapter and verse, that's the whole reason I bought software, so it can do the work.
We're like six months out (was it 09/2020) from the supposed conversion, and I suspect half the commentaries aren't even indexed (I could be wrong, but I wonder how many of the books/commentaries that were indexed in Wordsearch are still not TRULY FUNCTIONAL in Logos?).
It would be better not to even have the commentary's in the software if they're not indexed. An eBook is nothing more than like a pdf and it's just out and out deceptive to call them "AVAILABLE" when they're next to worthless. It's like a gas powered car without an engine, or a house without a roof. I bet if your house or apartment didn't have a roof, you'd be complaining up and down, and move out.
Please don't school me - a free text search of a pdf is like - why even have software at all?
I use Bible software so that my commentary moves right along with the Bible as I move around the Word between different Books, Chapters and Verses. This IS NOT advanced functionality. This is just basic, expected functionality that should just come with the software. Providing an un-indexed pdf is totally disgraceful. Providing an eBook or pdf that doesn't AUTOMATICALLY change along with the open Bible is totally WORTHLESS. Who's idea was that? Somebody who doesn't have to use the software day in and day out.
Then you try to SHAME your users for expecting fundamental functionality that either you won't provide, or you've prioritized lower than silly things that aren't germane. Get all of the commentaries indexed, and working - or be HONEST to the Wordsearch users, and just tell them, they're better off WAITING and using what really functionally already works (and has been working for years) in their software. QUIT shaming your users for wanting simple basic functionality we had in Wordsearch, that you can't seem to provide - but deceptively call "AVAILABLE" on your website.
Do you even publicly display your software backlog? Do you use an agile methodology? Are your users voting on your work priorities, or is some "marketing genius" calling the shots on what work gets done? Why put an engine in the car, or a roof on the house when we can have fancy colors and icons on the outside? It's EXTRA SAD - because your website marketing LIES as it says, and I quote "Do the Work of the Ministry without the Busywork" --- but wait, the basic Bible commentaries aren't even indexed with the Bible such that changing to a different book, chapter or verse changes the commentary. I DO have to do the busywork myself - because ???? why???
I expect this kind of deception from my cable company, a used car dealer, a health care company and politicians - but it's coming from a Bible software company who claims some Bible commentary is "AVAILABLE", but it's not much more than a pdf. Disgraceful.
Frustrated by the Cover Up Here
Continue to use Wordsearch - we'll get someone to contact you when all the resources are converted. None of us are aware of the details that lead to some resources taking longer than others. None of us know the quality of the source documents FL received. The only real recourse is patience, use the previous product (Wordsearch), and/or speculate and express frustration.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
I can see, and I suspect most of the requests are just forum posts to try to pacify Wordsearch users.
I was a WORDsearch user and I have to say the Logos in my estimation is 100 times better. I also find Faithlife more upfront and honest than WS. If you were a user of Mac computers, WS strung us along promising functional software that would operate on the Catalina OS, that went on month after month after month and finally they just gave up. Also, truthfully WS’ UI was stuck in the 1990s, and though WS resources could be cheaper it didn’t have one 10th of the capability of Logos... particularly if you compared their mobile device software in which WS wouldn’t even qualify as being basic software.
These forums are made of people trying to help people master Faithlife products, and there are some volunteers that dedicate incredible amounts of time and effort to assist people to be better students and teachers of the Word using Faithlife software. Your tone is not helpful or consistent with the nature and the purpose of these forums. Truthfully, you come across as angry, rude and disagreeable. Perhaps you are really mad at WS and you are channeling that toward Faithlife or perhaps you have other issues at work in your life that have you on edge. But I would appreciate, as I am sure many others would, if you keep your discourse civil and your tone courteous.
I have been a DAKE user for many, many years. I bought the Annotated Reference Bible about 35 years ago and it moved with me when I bought Word Search. Like you, I miss it so much that, when I open Logos, I always open Word Search on my desktop so I can move the Bible portion together and view the Dake's Notes.
The Dake's Notes are awesome because Dake put together scriptures like no other. You can, for example, find in the notes a list of Seven Things God Has Done in reference to Eph 2:4.
Logos has some strong features, and part of my "preference" for WS is probably due to familiarity. The Strong's Greek and Hebrew Talking Dictionary is easy to use and with a click you can hear how the word is pronounced. Double clicking on a word in KJV brings up this feature. I also have, That's Easy to Say and several others. Bible Notes are easier to add with just a click and Note Stacks is invaluable.
I am trying to convert fully to Logos but I will never be able to complete the switch until the Dake Bible, or, at least, the complete Notes are included with full functionality.

When I can that back?
Welcome to the forums ... don't expect answers to "when" questions ... the forums are primarily user-to-user. When FL employees do weigh in, they rarely give dates unless it is close and already public knowledge. Too many of us were obnoxious when estimates were not met [;)] Okay, it's probably simply business wisdom - the unexpected will happen (Murphy's law) so don't promise what you may not be able to deliver.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

[:$] Long time Mac users can remember waiting history on Logos Wiki => Mac Release Notes and History that includes:
Logos Blog 13 Feb 2007 update included “And there is no good answer to the question I’m asked almost daily: When?”
Initial Logos for Mac 1 shipped on 5 Dec 2008 (with ongoing corporate lesson learned to usually leave public "When ?" question unanswered as earlier estimate of 21 Jun 2006 for Mac software shipping was overly optimistic by ~2.5 years)

Thankful for recent Faithlife reply on 19 Feb 2021 about Wordsearch resource conversion that included:
For titles that we didn't carry we've been actively making them available in the Logos platform and improving their functionality and continue to do so. On February 16, we pushed out/updated over 200 titles and we're gearing up for another batch on March 3. In the last three days we've prepped 34 titles and that number will continue to grow over the next 12 days. As of this morning we have over 900 titles that are either in the process of being upgraded from ePubs into Logos Research editions. Most of these are your commentaries, Bibles, encyclopedias, etc.
Keep Smiling [:)]
Welcome [:D]
New Faithlife feedback has 8 votes for => LESSONmaker with status of "In Progress" and comment by Faithlife 23 days ago
The LESSONmaker Adult Questions (and all other LESSONmaker resources) will be coming to Logos: https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/catalog
We're not yet certain how we'll handle the functionality of building a lesson plan by copying-and-pasting questions to a document editor within the software. It may be replaced by copying resource content to Microsoft Word or any other third-party document editor.
Faithlife feedback has 7 votes => Adult Questions for LESSONMaker with status of "Planned"
Caveat: new feedback website needs a separate login so please vote => Add the feedback website to the Faithlife SSO system that has 9 votes.

Among those already suggested:
That's Easy For You to Say
HCSB Reverse Interlinear Bible
both are in Logos for a long time.
EDIT: and https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/catalog gives the link for "That's easy". The HCSB Reverse Interlinear is not a resource, but a dataset that allows owners of the HCSB to use the RI functionality and should work for you (look in the HCSB panel for a button with Hebrew aleph and Greek omega character on it to see it)
Have joy in the Lord!
