Info tool

I like to use the translation section in the info tool but it's not comparing the translations I would like it to. I want it to compare all English translations. And, when I click the 'Text Comparison' link in the info tool it's defaulted to the same list of translations I don't want to use. How do I change this?

    Hi Lee,

    Since the Info pane is comparing how the original language text was translated, the only texts available would be those that have the underlying text included which are called Reverse Interlinears. The Info Pane cannot include translations that do not have the underlying original languages tagged to them.

    Now you can add more translations to the text comparison tool once it is open or you can open the text comparison tool separately and it should open to the verse you are studying and then define which translations you want to compare. I have several bible collections that allow me to add them quickly and compare the translations. See below:

    You should be able to link this to a bible and have them scroll together, but, at least on my system, there is a bug that does not allow the sync to work.

    Thank John,

    I understand that the info tool will only work with reverse interlinears. And I know how to use the text comparison tool to have it use different translations. What I don't know how to do is to change the bible translations that are used within the info tool to generate its results. Without opening the text comparison tool itself I like to look at the brief summary of results that is available in the info tool but I can's figure out how to change which translations it is using.

    Lee it should include all your interlinear texts by default. I am not aware of any way to adjust that.

    Ok, this is very helpful. I didn't actually clue into the full implications of your first response. It looked to me like the info tool was working off of a set of parameters I had set for an early 'text comparison' parameter. But now I realize that it has listed all the reverse interlinear bibles in the order that I have them prioritized.
