I used Wordsearchbible. Logos bought them out. I had spent years building a library of over 1500 books in WORDSearch. I did the transfer to logos. Version 8. Now they have come out with version 9, wanting me to spend over $700 to upgrade! very sneaky and underhanded. But anyhow on the transfer from my WORDSearch library I believe I have lost over 1/3 of it in the transfer. Anyone else have this problem?

Welcome to the forums. Sorry your first impressions are poor ... but glad they can all be resolved.

    1. It doesn't cost $700 to upgrade. Sometime early next year the L9 engine will be available for free. If you need to upgrade before then, the features is the only portion you need to buy.

    2. Have you checked your list of "lost" books against the list of books that are still being worked on? Have you checked if your license was from Wordsearch so that the license was transferred in the purchase? Is so, then contact Faithlife customer service to work out the issue.

On the forums we are mainly volunteers not Faithlife employees so you need to work with them. P.S. The Wordsearch subforum is a more appropriate place for this post. That it where they know the links to the posts on lists of resources, where to report problems etc.

    I used Wordsearchbible.

In case you were not aware, they have created a page for Wordsearch users that should help to answer most of your questions - https://www.logos.com/wordsearch

I used Wordsearch alongside Logos. I know they are still in the process of converting the books to Logos, it's just taking some time.

We have retained all of our books and features in WS12 for as long as Operating systems continue supporting it. Even after that it could be maintained on an out of date laptop. Our EULA on purchase covers WS/Lifeway from legal ramifications.
HOWEVER, Faithlife/Logos has agreed to house our libraries as well, even adding a few features above and beyond their "base" package for no cost to us. The features and books we have are ours whether we ever upgrade or not, we will not lose access to Logos 8 if we never buy another thing from Logos/FL.
I suspect you may have a misunderstanding of how upgrades work in Logos, what we have, we keep. The new L9 features are separate from what has already been given us in L8, an upgrade is for NEW features only.
Also, $700 sounds like a library package, not features, so you would be purchasing more books on top of what you already own (and don't lose)
As far as WS books that have not made it yet, they have given a timeline of early 2021 to get all the books available to us. Certain Lifeway books will not be coming over as the licenses were retained by Lifeway, but I believe that list was rather small.
Welcome to Logos! I was resistant at first, even bitter, but after some training I am extremely pleased with the move.

Is there a list of the Lifeway resources that are not to be licensed in LOGOS?
