Couple of iPad app questions
1. Is Logos be creating a separate iPad app, or will they be morphing the existing one into a dual purpose app.
2. Will it be available on iPad release day (April 3rd)

From what I have learned the iPad app will not be the same but similar. And it was submitted so hopefully will be ready Sat or soon thereafter.

The iPad is the same as the iPhone app (called a Universal App in Apple-speak). It is Logos Bible Software 1.4.0 and it was approved 4/2 and is available now.

Let's put it this way, I didn't install OliveTree on my iPad. [;)]
The app is quite good. The interface is quick, the page layout is clear and easy to read. Now if they will just stop sticking stuff on the home page, or at least give us the ability to choose which things we want to see (like L4), this thing has real potential.
I really would like to see a roadmap of where development is going though, right now (unless I am missing something) the development process is pretty much a black box to the users.

Of course their iPad app is not yet out, so that only makes sense.
I am pleased with it.
The biggest difference is that you have all the icons on the bottom. You get Passage Guide, Bible Word Study and Text Comparison added to the ones available previously. The popup window that shows when you press and hold a word in Read view (if its a translations like ESV with Interlinear) is nice. Gives a lot of info in one screen.
The look of the text is crisp and beautiful. Very fast (other than normal downloading that you get from the fact that you are accessing content from the Internet).

Thanks Dave - Didn't even think of looking there.....
The iPad is not yet released in the Great South Land of the Holy Spirit - so I'm eager to hear of people's experiences and to see the iPad app in operation.

Actually Kevin, that isn't the reason, I am using quite a few iPhone apps on my iPad and have been quite pleased with them. I didn't load OliveTree because I didn't feel I needed the backup for the Logos app any more. Nothing against OliveTree, since their app is completely contained on the iPhone/iPad it has greater functionality when there isn't an internet connection, but I just don't think I need feel the need YMMV.

Is there a way you can tell the iPad app to download ALL of your resources, instead of individually? Do iPad resources take just as much space as they do on the computer? The only reason I'm planning on buying an iPad is because of Logos being on it. Before I was just going to download some books to it that I was going to be reading in the near future, but with a pretty efficient passage guide, I'm thinking it'd be good to download all of the commentaries and resources.

I wish they would allow highlighting and copying of verses for pasting in the Pages App. Note taking would be a great plus too. Great for reading but don't leave your laptop at home...

Is there a way to make it (and the iPhone app) so that when you're flipping pages in reading view, it has the neat page turning effect like the iBooks app (Kindle managed to pull it off in their iPad app). Obviously not a necessity, but it sure would be pretty dang fun!

Not at this time, but who knows what Logos has up their sleeve.

Bob has said that highlighting and notes are on the way. the Logos app is still pretty young, I have great hopes for it.

But let them work on that after they have greater functionality (and a customizable home page) in place.

I have a feeling the page turn thing would be a minor change in the programming. Kind of neat touch.
I am going to be preaching from my iPad today so I will see how it goes.

Good luck, I am teaching SS from mine. It will be interesting if nothing else.

Good to hear since the lack of those 2 features are main thing making me hesitant about buying the iPad. The other one is voice reading.
