Commentary Target Window
Is there anything built into the program that would allow a single window to be the target of ALL commentary link clicks? It doesn't take long to have a large number of commentary windows open. I know that you can cycle through commentaries with the right arrow. But if a commentary does not have a note on the passage, it goes to the nearest note and the window "forgets" the original passage.

penetrate more deeply into the knowledge of God’s Word in Holy Scripture
is a lost day for me. I can only move forward with certainty upon the
firm ground of the Word of God.”

Do you mean so that if you are reading a commentary and clicking on links to other commentaries - or other resources - that they all open in the same window?
If so, I don't know of any way to do this in the program at the moment but it sounds like a really good idea.

Dewayne,
You can go to Guides and create a guide that just has the commentary section and link it to your bible. This will give you exactly what you want... I think.

Maybe there is a better work flow than mine. But when I have a thought or question come up while reading a passage, I will open the Passage Guide to go deeper. As I go through the commentaries in the list, each one is opening a new TAB. It would be nice to have it set up that each newly opened commentary would replace the last as you go through the list. A better way to cycle through the commentaries is to just use the right arrow. The only problem with this is that if a commentary does not have a hit on the exact verse it jumps to the nearest one. And when you cycle to the next commentary it jumps to this new location, not the original one. For example if I am looking at Romans 3:3 in a commentary and cycle using the right arrow to the next one, and it doesn't have an entry for Romans 3:3 it jumps to the next one. And if the next one is Romans 4, then cycling again would take the next commentary to Romans 4 instead of Romans 3:3. After a few misses, you can get pretty far off from where you started.Graham Criddle said:Dewayne Davis said:Is there anything built into the program that would allow a single window to be the target of ALL commentary link clicks?

Yes I do use this to limit my commentary hits. But it doesn't show enough information to keep me from having to open the commentary to browse through it. And in the same way, each commentary opened is a separate window. It would be nice to set them up to replace each other as I go through the list.John Fidel said:Dewayne,

Part of the solution is to choose commentaries that are very nearly verse by verse; which is my main criteria. But one improvement I've noted is that the result verse isn't found in the range that precedes the target i.e. 2 Thess 2:5-7 is not the result for v.6 if that milestone follows the range.
