Yes - this is possible with the Logos 9 mobile app
When you have the type box open, you should see the option to include a photo
Do you see that? If not, I'll try and upload a screenshot

Since we're in the Logos 8 Mobile forum, it occurred to me that Gus might not have moved to L9 on any of his platforms - if so, then the functionality is not there.
