How to reinstall logos 8 in windows 7
Hi,
I was using logos 8 in win 7, however I just uninstall it and then prepared to install logos 9.
During installing logos 9, I found that the minimum requirement of logos 9 is Win10.
The worst news for me that I can't install back logos 8 in my win7.
Do you have any recommendation for me to fix my current issue?
Can I download a logos 8 version, ie, 8.10? so I can use it in my win7.
Please help. Thanks a lot
Chris

Will you find an old LogosSetup.exe in your hard disk? That might do the job.
Gold package, and original language material and ancient text material, SIL and UBS books, discourse Hebrew OT and Greek NT. PC with Windows 11

Yes, I used old logos 8 for setup, however, it prompted a message "Setup was unable to download a required file".
Any further suggestion?

Hi Keep Smiling,
I have tired 8.11 and 8.12, the prompted message is the same, "Setup was unable to download a required file".
Is there any complete setup file for win7 (64-bit)?
Thanks

Hi Chris

Logos Help Center (LHC) has "Unable to download a required file." support article.

Hi Keeping Smile,
The issue is the same and the technical team of logos hasn't contacted me yet.0 -

Uninstall of Logos 8 may have removed a Windows 7 required file that can no longer be downloaded from Microsoft. Since Windows 7 Support was discontinued, have found a number of Windows 7 downloads are no longer available from Microsoft.
An idea is trying Windows 7 product key with Windows 10 installer (seems Microsoft has quietly continued free Windows 10 upgrade).

Actually, I think logos may reserve one logos 8 version for windows 7, of course, logos may not provide any update for that version, but may have a version for win 7 users. Over 35% users are still using win 7 now.

When Windows 7 had downloadable files from Microsoft (before 14 Jan 2020 "end-of-life"), a Faithlife developer posted on Sat 13 Jul 2019:
Logos 8.11 is the last "Supported" release for Windows 7. Logos 8.12 will be a "Supported" release for Windows 10 and, if technically possible, a "Maintenance" release for Windows 7. As documented, "Maintenance" releases do have support for older OSes and are released to allow the latest resources to be read.
In the past, the "Supported" release was, say, Logos 7.4, and the "Maintenance" release was Logos 6.14 SR-4. In this deprecation plan, the same Logos 8.x release will be both "Supported" and "Maintenance" depending on the OS you try to run it on (and eventually that OS will be "Unsupported").
We're promising that Logos 8.11 will install on Windows 7; we're not promising anything after that. We feel this is friendlier than taking explicit steps to prevent Logos 8.12 from installing because the table "implies no support for 'Old OS'".
Windows 7 is an operating system no longer supported by Faithlife (as Microsoft discontinued all support of Windows 7 on 14 Jan 2020).

Hi Keep Smiling,
It is good news for me, I should reinstall 8.11 in my win 7 anyway.
However, I have tried 8.11 before, it seems it did work too.
Thanks for your information. Hopefully, I can contact technical support for resolving issue.0 -
