exporting search results

Larry Craig

I am doing a study in John of the word life.

I want to create a list with the verses printed out in NASB with the Greek under each verse.

I can do this with an old program I have, though it won't be the NASB. A snap.

I don't see any way to do this. I can print the list, save it as a file other than WORD, but no usable options for me.

What am I missing?

When you have a passage list, you can specify multiple Bibles in the box at the top of the list of verses. You can specify NASB and your preferred Greek Bible. Depending on the width of your window, this may display the two translations side-by-side. But, if you make the window narrower, then the layout will shift so that the second Bible shows up underneath the first for each verse. At that point you can print or export as desired with this layout.

Thank you, but I'm not seeing it.

I clicked on the word life in John, did Bible word study, under translation, it created a list of the passages. But I see no option to add Bibles or export to WORD.

I'm seeing the place where I should be able to add another version, but it won't let me. I get the one there, but it won't let me add another one.

You will need to send that list of passages to a Passage List document. You can accomplish this by right-clicking on the Translation header and selecting the "Save as Passage List" option. Once you are there, you will be able to add a comma separated list of Bibles to use for display.

thank you again, but I see no such option. I can send it to PowerPoint or to a sermon something or other.. Or I can print it or save it in some unrecognizable formats.

OK, I got it. It printed the list as a table that is a pain in the butt to try to edit. The format I find unworkable, and it looks like it's all hyperlinked. I can do it the old-fashioned way, so that looks like what I'll have to do.

You might have better luck when you do the export if you choose the "Save as file: Text Document" option, or "Copy to clipboard" and then paste in a plain text editor rather than on that supports formatting. This outputs a format that might be simpler to work with.

I'm finding this whole thing frustrating. Even if I were to succeed in doing it, I won't remember it the next time. Now I can't even get a second Bible version to show up.

Not worth my time.

But thank you again. I appreciate your efforts. I did learn a few things here. Not sure if I'll use them again, but it's a start.
