Journal not showing up in Topic Guide search

I am using the topic guide, but I know I have a journal that deals with that topic. I do not have time to tag every topic I want to see in the search.

Is there a way I can tag a specific journal for topic guide to pull from and display each time I search?

The tagging is performed by Faithlife and it can be difficult to reconcile what you perceive as a topic vs. what is actually tagged (I tried a few that are topics and which appeared to be represented in a journal before I struck gold with Melchizedek (person)).

External user tagging won't help with Topic Guide.

I create a collection of Journals and then add that collection to my Topic Guide. It will search for headings with the topic in the topic guide. It is much more broad than the Journal section curated by Faithlife. What is the topic and what is the journal and I can run it and see?

Also let me know if I can assist you in either setting up the collection or the customized guide.

Specifically, I am trying to use the topic somewhat like the counseling guide in Logos 9. If I search for "anxiety" for example, I want the topic guide to search The Journal of Biblical Counseling rather than me having to search it separately.

    Try this:

    1. Create a collection of Journals:
      1. Open tools
      2. From tools open collections
      3. Enter Name
      4. In the "start with matching resources box enter: type:jounal
      5. Close collections
    2. Now open your topic guide
    3. Enter a topic
    4. Click the add button on the right
    5. Select collections and it will be added to the bottom of the guide
    6. Hove over that section click on settings and select your new collection: Jounals

If your click on the search journals you can see what the Topic Guide is searching for and adapt accordingly. It searches for headers text and large text. It also attempts to search for other terms related to your topic.

Let me know how it goes.

NOTE: You can also limit the collection to just the journals you want if there are too many hits. See the Logos Wiki for examples of collections.

Thanks John. That's a roundabout way of doing it, but it works for me!

Thanks John. I may use the Topic Guide with that modification.

FYI, you can include any collection such as commentary collections to see if there is an article with the topic in the heading... or monograph collections for background, handbooks... just some thoughts.
