Logos on Mac Air vs Pro
I'm oking to buy a Mac and sell my PC because I have everything Apple and want the connectibility. Any recommendations? I noticed that the Mac Air largest HD is 512. Wondering if it would be enough. Don't do that much on PC. social networking, bible study, No gaming. Suggestions?

Actually, you can customize the air up to 2 TB. But it sounds like 512 would be plenty for what you do

Are you familiar with the M1 chip vs. Intel? You should become familiar with that before making any purchase.

If I recall correctly the screen on the Pro in the M1 line is a bit better than the one on the Air. I think it's probably worth it if you use it a lot and hold onto it longer.

The only reasons to get the Pro over the Air are...
- You want the touchbar
- You prefer the style of the design
- You need active cooling because you do processor intensive tasks for more than about 10-15 minutes (No logos doesn't count for more than maybe the first installation or a major update for indexing)
And that's it. Save your money and get the Air. Even the base model with 8GB and 256 would be fine if you don't install much else. 512 if you do.
This comes from someone who has a pro and an air in the home. Air battery lasts long and is cheaper. The screen on the pro is reported to be much better, but my son and I put ours together and could barely tell the different.

Both have the same screen now. Both have now the P3 color....
The difference is: In the Pro you can turn it to 500 nits and on the Air only 400 nits. I guess this is only because the LED needs so much power, that if you have the ability to turn the Air also to 500 nits, the battery would not be good enough. It seems the Air is here limited by software not hardware.
If you often outdoor the Pro is the better.

In real-world usage looking at both screens, it was very difficult to notice a difference between both screens at 100% brightness.

The perceived image difference is mostly limited by the relatively small screen. I have an old 24 inch Samsung monitor whose resolution is probably considered nothing today but still looks great because of the size.
What people see is often a matter of training and experience. I have been doing photography for over 50 years and I work on metal with a 10X loupe (for starters!). If you don't know what to look for, you probably won't see it even if it is genuinely there. For some of us, that still matters.
