Word count in Translation Ring versus Concordance Tool (Logos 9)
Hello everyone! I'm new to Logos and not a native english speaker so please excuse my errors 
. So my question pertains to a different result in word count from the Translation Ring and from the Concordance Tool. I'm using the Lexham English Septuagint (Second Edition) in both the Translation Ring and the Concordance to look for occurrences of the greek word phronesis. However, the Concordance lists a total 61 ocurrences of the word in the LES2, while the Translation Ring says there is only 56.
But there's another thing: when I added up all the occurrences in the Translation Ring passage lists (21 for wisdon, 17 for insight, etc), they added up to 61, not 56 as you would suppose from the expressions "21 of 56", "17 of 56", etc.
The logos help file for the translation ring says that 'Translations are grouped together by stem, so in this instance, “trial” and “trials” count as the same result, as do “test” and “testing.”'

But that doesn't really answer my question, since in the end the total occurrences in the Translation Ring add up to 61 just as in the Concordance.
I would very much like to understand why the Translation Ring says there are only 56 occurrences, so I can figure which are the ones it isn't counting.

I think the count shown at the top of the translation ring is incorrect. If you click it, it opens the corresponding chart and - manually counting the entries there - shows there are actually 61.
So I think it is a problem with the way the count is being caculated - I'm afraid I don't know what.

Hi Graham, sorry to hijack but I was following along to see if I saw anything that might be helpful - are you saying per the picture below, clicking on the translation ring's result count opens the chart tool? Mine doesn't do anything...!?

You need to click the graphic to the right of the count, not the count itself!

The count of 61 is because there are 61 instances of the lemma. The count of 59 is the number of verses containing the lemma (two of the verses contain the lemma twice).
The count of 56 is because the line appears to be using a different set of Bible books than expected. For example, when you hover over the segments, you will see that it indicates results in 1 Samuel and 1 Kings rather than 1 Kingdoms and 3 Kingdoms as are found in the LES. The line is missing the book of Enoch, which contains 3 results, and this is why you get a count of 56 verses rather than 59 verses.
This seems like a bug to me, and I'll write up a case on Monday for this.
