Hi, folks:

I have many books to down load re L 8.

1.  How do I keep all of them in the cloud??

AND

2.   Down load all their names to the library??

So, when I want to read Book X, I could down load only it to my desktop.

    Hi Scooter!

First, in Program Settings, turn off "Download New Resources"

    Then,

    1) open Library and the Library Inspector ("i" icon).

    2) Select all the books that you want to keep in the Cloud (select all is CMD/CTRL-A)

    3) In the inspector, click the "Downloaded" button and click "Remove from Device"

That's it, all the books you selected will be removed and will be in the Cloud.

All the resource titles remain in your Library even if they are not downloaded.

To download a title, click the "Download" button in the Library Inspector.

    Levi:  Hi, + thank you.

I like this + will write it down to save. + do.

Perhaps U could take a kick at the following:

I have 3.5 MB to down load.  I have stopped it from doing so; I am no longer quite sure how.

I need to down load the title names into Library, + down load updates, I figure.

This will have left all these new books themselves in the cloud: this is what I want.

SUM: Down load the titles of all new books, + leave the books in the cloud. Down load updates.

    How do I do this??

    Thank you.

SUM: Down load the titles of all new books,

Happily, this happens automatically without you doing anything or seeing anything about downloading anything. It's part of the process of syncing.

Like SineNomine said, this will be automatic. If you have "Download New Resources" set to "No," then new resource titles will appear in the Library, but will not be downloaded. The Library Inspector will show a "Download" icon instead of a "Downloaded" icon.

Are you asking if updates to the books you do have downloaded will still download even with the "Download New Resources" set to "No"?

That's a good question. I hope they do.

Levi + SineNomine:  Thank you both for your time here.

I now know how to proceed.
