IVP New Testament Commentary (Revelation)

I am trying to follow and have noticed some milestone issues. It looks like only the first part of the milestone in the commentary is actually linked, not the range.

Eg The Message to Philadelphia (3:7–13)

If I am in my bible on 3:7, then in the commentary will show in a linked Commentary Guide. If I am on 3:8 it will not show. If I increment the verses, it will not show until the next start of the milestone range, then incrementing again it will not show during that range.

I checked John and Hebrews in that series and they seem to work as expected, so might just be this resource .

So Kevin, I opened the IVP commentary and the NIV and placed both in link set A.

I set both to the title page and typed 'Rev 3 7' into the search bar of the bible and both jumped to the correct places.

I repeated the exercise and typed Rev 3 8 into the search bar of the bible and the bible jumped to Rev 3 8 and the commentary to the paragraph that contains Rev 3 8 ie v7 to 13

I set both back to the Title Page and typed Rev 3 7 into the search bar of the commentary. Both volumes opened to the same place ie the start of the pericope. They maintained this behavior through typing Rev 3 7 to 3 13 one verse after the other - then at Rev 3 14 both jumped to the start of the pericope 'To the church in Laodicea'

What would you like to see happen when you move to Rev 3 8 from Rev 3 7?

The problem Mike is that a Commentary section in a guide linked to a bible does not show this commentary unless it is on the start of a range. If the bible is on 3:8, the commentary is not in the guide even though there is a range that encompasses that reference. If you set the bible to 3:7, you will see the commentary in the guide...if you hover over the commentary in the guide, you will see that the reference in the hover box is only 3:7 not 3:7-13.

If you compare John 3:22 in this series, it is in a range 3:22-36. If you hover over resource in the guide, it will show the references in the hover box as 3:22-36, and as a result, all references between 3:22 and 3:36 will show this resource in the commentary section of the guide as you increment through them.

Which means you should see the same if you hover over the milestone in the Commentary itself. I would select the milestone (3:7-13), right-click it and select Report Typo. Just add a comment that the actual milestone is Rev 3:7 and it should be Rev 3:71-13.

There is a difference the between the two popups reference, one is bible which has a range, one is from the commentary which is single verse.

I think the milestone is hidden, not the displayed reference.

Also problem seems to be for every milestone in the book, 3:7 was just an example.

I will typo report this one and mention that it is them all.

We need to update the milestones in the resource so that they include ranges.

The good news is the entire series is in the process of being updated and this fix will be included in that update.
