Using Sermon Manager and (Hopefully) Sermon Editor for Podcasting/Screencasting
So I really like the Sermon Manager. I've been trying it out since it came with the upgrade. It seems to work well for managing Podcast episode scripts, though I'm finding the actual editor to be missing some features.
I can type a passage in and it auto hyperlinks it perfectly. But, as I understand it, there is no way to link to other tools like the Exegetical guide or a commentary, etc? I would like to be able to come to that part in my script where I open a tool or commentary and click on it in the script and it opens in the window being recorded (the script will be off screen).
If possible I would also like the ability to put links in the script to external websites so when I get to that part, I just click on it and it opens in a browser for viewing on the screencast.
I've looked at the Notes feature to accomplish this, and though it does provide for all these, the formatting is less than ideal, plus it is not directly managed in the Sermon Manager.
Any ideas?

You can't do this for something like the Exegetical Guide (and I agree it would be really nice if we could or to link in external websites) but you can do it for commentaries or other resources.
If you paste in a block of text from the commentary into your sermon it will appear in a box with a blue hyperlink to the resource at the top. Clicking that will open the resource to that point in a separate window.

How odd. This does not work for me with any of my commentaries or other resources. It only works for bible verses. When I paste it into the sermon builder it just pastes it as regular text. I even tried hitting return and still nothing. If I hit the space bar after typing in a reference it just leaves a hyperlinked reference, but if I do a return immediately, it provides the text in a box.
Nothing happens with commentaries I copy and paste into the editor.

For the "reference box" to appear you need to paste it on a completely blank line.
Have you tried that?

The only options I can think of are 1. glitch on my individual install or 2. it's based on package. I started out with the Free Academic version then just upgraded to Logos 9 Academic Essentials. If you have a different package, I'd bet that's why you have the feature and I don't. At this point it's not important enough to seek clarification with tech support. Even if I could do the commentary links I still can't do external links, so I plan to just preload the external links I need in the browser and pull up as needed (with a reminder note to do so in the script).
There is another way I can do commentaries and other resources. I can move the favorites window under the sermon editor, with a folder for the podcast with links to everything sitting there waiting to be clicked on. Still no external links, though.
Even with the limitation of no option to add links (which is just odd in my opinion) I think the sermon editor will work okay for scripts incorporated with Logos.
Maybe they'll make improvements on the Sermon Builder at some point. Thanks for the help. ;-)

Make sure you didn't accidentally type a space. Automatic insertion only works at the beginning of a blank line.

Use a combination of Sermon Manager and the Notestool. Create a Notebook for the Sermon from the Sermon Builder. This way your Notebook can be opened from the Sermon Builder. Add all the links and additional data of value in the Note.
When editing a Note the Sermon Builder doesn't update. You'll need to click the info icon and then the Notebook icon again to update the notes. This is a minor bug that I hope will be fixed soon.
