16gb or 32gb SDRAM
Preparing to buy a new laptop, and I'm doubting between two models:
Model 1:
- Dell XPS 15 - i7-9750H
- 32gb SDRAM
- 1TB M.2 PCIE 40 Performance SSD
- EUR 1844
Model 2:
- Dell XPS 15 - i7-10750H
- 16GB SDRAM
- 1TB M.2 PCIE 40 Performance SSD
- EUR 1978
Model 1 has a slightly older processor, but double memory, and is cheaper
Model 2 has a slightly newer processor, but half memory, and is more expensive
What would you go for, if Logos and video-editing (Camtasia) were the only software to consider?

My opinion... 16 gb of ram is great for Logos. I run Logos, WordSearch, MSWord, Excel, Powerpoint, IdeaJ (an editor for Java), RememberMe all most all the time and I only have 16 gb or ram. In other words, my machine is busy. I am thinking of adding more monitors because of it all - I have 2 now.
But long story short. With all that, I find 16 gb is just fine and comfortable. I doubt you will overuse 16 gb... especially with the modern way the ssd drives swap out..... in my opinion. The 32 gb ram may be a bit of over-engineering.
The real advantage is the SSD and the late processor. This will give you big bang for your bucks. I generally go with cheapest upgrade first, that being the ram.. then the ssd.
So in my case.... I would choose Model 2.

I have a desktop from 2013 with 32 GB RAM and a 2017 laptop with 8GB RAM and both run Logos about the same.
This resource is the only one that runs slow - I don't know why, but if you have it, you could use it as a test case:
Gold package, and original language material and ancient text material, SIL and UBS books, discourse Hebrew OT and Greek NT. PC with Windows 11

What about the graphics? A good discrete graphics component is desirable for video editing. If big or complex video projects are expected, I’d lean toward the 32gb RAM.

My XPS 15 with an i9 features 32GB RAM and it also has a graphics card. It's a couple years old but it runs really fast with a very large Logos library. The beauty is I can run it, listen to iTunes, never worry if something is indexing and do anything else without an issue.
More memory is for overhead with multiple applications or maybe lots of windows open. I don't think you need 32GB RAM for most work with Logos but I often have more things open so I appreciate it.

It really depends on what else you are running at the same time. I have 24GB of RAM and run Divinci Resolve but it crashes if I don't close other programs before running it. Logos will run fine either way. You'll want to check if your video editing software has GPU acceleration. If not, get a faster processor. If yes, then look for one with a decent GPU. If I was looking to buy a new laptop at this moment I'd be looking for an AMD Ryzen 5800H or better with a GTX3060 and up GPU. With this level of GPU 16GB of RAM should be sufficient as the GPU also has at least 6GB of its own RAM.

In real-world performance the Model 2 processor is not significantly faster. Go for Model 1

16GB + SSD works great for me with Logos. I hear 32gb is good for video editing though. So consider your greatest need.

I don't think you will see a difference in the way Logos runs between the two processors, so if everything else is equal I would go with the extra memory and save some money as well. I was going to say that's my two cents, but I guess it is really yours [;)]
