Feature Request: Allow popups to show both English and Hebrew/Greek text
I have been a long-time user of Bibleworks (up to v7) and have been using L4 almost exclusively since it's release. I hadn't realized how much I relied on the fact that popups (when hovering over Bible verse-refs) can show both preferred English translation as well as either Hebrew / Greek.
When hovering over a verse-ref (with no 'modifier key' held down) only the English translation is displayed in a popup, while hovering over a verse-ref (with a 'modifier key' - Ctrl - held down) displays either English + Hebrew (for OT verse-refs) or English + Greek (for NT verse refs).
I hereby humbly (and hopefully) submit my request for similar functionality in L4.

The "popup" shown when pressing F7 to compare translations of the current verse already "supports" displaying Hebrew (since, in my case, BHS shows up in the list - after I created a Bibles collection and promoted BHS). So this shouldn't be too technically challenging.
I'd be comfortable with either side-by-side (as in the F7 case) or one-above-the-other (like Bibleworks does) layout of the popup.

Hitting an extra key is quite inefficient. An besides, when I am using a commentary and mouse over a biblical reference, hitting f7 seems to give a comparison of where the top of the page is in the commentary, not the verse I am hovering over. I would like to strongly urge the following proposal.
One of the Logos features that is very helpful is the ability to "mouse over" a biblical reference and have your bible version of choice appear. What would be even more helpful would be to be able to specify several versions that you want, so that you could have two in English and one in Greek and Hebrew. Then when you mouse over, not only would you have a quick glance at the English, but also could immediately note the original language behind it.
I have a lot of experience in computer programming, and so I am guessing that the current Logos, simply has a pointer that indicates where to fetch the appropriate version, whenever a reference is moused over. Instead of a mere pointer, create a vector of pointers, that allows the user to specify from 1 to 10 versions. To make it really useful, allow for an alias called GreekOTNT where the user could specify LLX combo with NA27 for a seamless reference to the Greek behind the English Bible. In case of Hebrew, it would be for only the OT segment, but it shouldn't be hard to write the code segment so that mousing would access only the versions specified for the given portion, whether OT, NT, or Apocrypha. With such an approach an alias may not be needed. Without knowledge of the coding behind the current system I cannot say a lot more, but hopefully this gives the idea.
Use of vectors should make at least an elementary version of this quite easy to implement, hopefully on one of the updates. It would be nice to at least have a quick version that would allow for immediate comparison of English and Greek.A vector set of options would make this very versatile. You could set it to be an immediate comparison of two English versions and one Greek and one Hebrew. Or users without knowledge of those languages could select several in English.

Hi Stuart, L4 seems to accomplish this same task in a different way using interlinears at the bottom so if you open the pane, click on a word, you get all the Greek or Hebrew word info you need. I also suspect the interlinear is far more powerful than a popup because they offer more information and morphological searching. So having never used BW myself, is there something those popus did that is not accomplihed through the L4 interlinears?

It's not an interlinear that I'm after - it's the speed of not having to click on a Bible verse ref (say in a commentary or lexicon) to open a Bible at that verse, then show the Interlinear, or open BHS / AFAT at the same verse. What I'm after is that the popup that appears when you hover (not click on) a verse-ref shows the verse not only in English but also in Hebrew / Greek. This makes it much, much faster to quickly reading the Hebrew / Greek for a given verse.

Stuart, I see a bit more clearly now what you are suggesting. I think L4 has a different approach and there are ways to do this, but just differently. Since your intention though is to make a suggestion you belive will improve logos for your use, I think you should post this in the "Suggestions" forum where it will get the proper attention from the Logos team. I have the same Bibleworks background, and I wonder if this feature has been implemented. It is possible to add multiple versions to be displayed when hovering over a reference?

Nothing has changed in this area. As pointed out above, pressing F7 when hovering over a reference will show those verses in your top 5 prioritised Bibles

A solution may be the INFORMATION PANEL (available through TOOLS). If you click on the 3 dots (kebab menu) you should be able to set it to "Hover". Using "translation" and "Word Info" facets may provide what you are looking for.
