How Do I Prevent Yellow Highlights from auto-populating into my open Bible Study Notebook?

I've set up a notebook in which to record Bible study notes. As I'm browsing through commentaries, I'll occasionally want to highlight a section in yellow. When I do, it automatically adds the highlight as a note in my open Bible Study Notebook. How do I prevent this behavior?

One way is to have a different default for the Palette in the Highlighting tool. Right click the palette title, click to the right of Notebook: and select a name other than Active Notebook.
