Sermon Manager - Topic List/Search

I'm starting to use the Sermon Manager and was wondering how do I add a topic into the topic selection?

I'm looking at Matthew 6:25-34 where worry is a keyword. When I add topics, I get the terms Stress as well as Anxiety but not Worry. If I looked at this passage again in 3-4 years, I'm not smart enough to think through all the alternatives to worry when worry is so prevalent in the text.

I added the term Worry to the Description as well as Private Notes. However, when I search in the Sermon Manager, it returns no results. Neither does it find Anxiety or Stress when they are listed in Topics. If the search doesn't search, why is it there?

    Hi Paul

When I add topics, I get the terms Stress as well as Anxiety but not Worry

Topics need to be from a predefined Logos list - and they then appear in Guides / Factbook etc - so I'm afraid we can't just choose our own.

I added the term Worry to the Description as well as Private Notes. However, when I search in the Sermon Manager, it returns no results. Neither does it find Anxiety or Stress when they are listed in Topics

I don't know the full scope of what is covered by the search feature but it may well not include text in the Description.

I did check searching for topics and they did appear

Can you post a screenshot (using the paperclip icon in the forum editor) showing the data for your sermon and the search you are doing?

Thank you for your help. Perhaps my searching is incorrect. I attached screenshots of the next 6 months from Sermon Manager. The filtering works, but I cannot get the searching to work.

Apologies - it appears searching works against Titles and Series names but not Topics.

Fortunately, for most purposes, you won't have to think through all the alternatives to Worry in 3-4 years... and not just because you might be using a translation like the ESV, which uses "be anxious" instead of "worry".

If you type Worry into the GO Box, you will see a Topic search suggestion for Anxiety and Factbook suggestions for articles on Anxiety and Stress. In other words, Logos/Verbum 'knows' that Worry -> Anxiety/Stress. You will also get these hits if you type the search term Worry directly into the Factbook or a Topic Guide.

The Topics section of a Passage Guide run on Matthew 6:25-34 will also bring up the topic of Anxiety.
