I am finding inconsistency between searches in the Selection menu and the Context menu.
When I select a phrase from the Bible and choose Search from the Selection menu, I would expect the phrase to be put quotation marks. This works just fine if I select “the parable of the sower" in Matthew 13:18.
But when I select "τὴν παραβολὴν τοῦ σπείραντος" in the Greek New Testament, then select Search from the Selection menu, the search is entered as:
lemma:ὁ BEFORE 4 CHARS lemma:παραβολή BEFORE 4 CHARS lemma:ὁ BEFORE 4 CHARS lemma:σπείρω
This is not what I expect at all. It is searching for a lemma of each individual word. If I select the same text and choose Search, Bible from the Context menu, the search is entered as I expect:
"τὴν παραβολὴν τοῦ σπείραντος"
If I select just "the Sower" in Matthew 13:8 and select Search from the Selection menu, a Morph search is created with this search:
lemma:σπείρω
This is not even correct, because it ignores that I selected the article in the English Bible. It also is ignoring my selection of an English phrase.
But if I select the same text from the Context menu, the search comes out as I would as a phrase in a Bible search:
"the sower"
I see several problems with this inconsistent behavior
- The selection of a phrase in Greek does not produce a phrase search from the Selection menu as it does from the English Bible.
- Search for a selection in the English Bible sometimes searches for the English phrase (as expected), but at other times it reverts to a Greek lemma.
- Searching on a phrase produces a different result depending on whether the search is from the Selection menu or the Context menu with the selection chosen.
I believe that a phrase selected in any language should produce a phrase search whether the search is produced from the Selection menu or the Context menu.
