Refuse to sync, lost my updated sermon data

I made some last minute changes to my message on my desktop, and manually synced the program to update the info for my mobile Logos on the notebook I use to preach.  I tried multiple times, shutting down my notebook and restarting, but the edited version of the sermon refused to load on the notebook.  I ended up shutting down my desktop application and restarting to try that, and lost all my changes.  This is the second time I have had this problem with edited messages not updating for my notebook before I preach.  Is anyone else having this problem with the system?  What do I need to do to correct this issue?

Did you click the Sync icon? Why?

It would be helpful if you performed this with logging enabled, and upload the logs via the paperclip icon if the problem recurs.

Hi David - and welcome to the forums

Sorry to hear of the problems you are having

When you refer to a notebook - do you mean a mobile device (iPad or Android tablet) or a laptop (Windows / Mac computer)?

HI Graham, thanks for responding.  I am referring to either my android phone or Android tablet.  I checked both of them to see if either of them would update the sermon document.  I used my I said desktop in my first post when referring to the PC I used to create the sermon, but I was actually using my Samsung Laptop.  When I tried rebooting the laptop and restarting the Logos program on the laptop, I completely lost all my updates.  Evidently, the laptop program was not uploading changes even though I was manually clicking the sync icon.

Hi Dave.  It normally uploads changes itself, but I tried clicking the icon because the document on my Android Tablet was not current.  Also tried to manually syncing the tablet from the program menu.   I will try turning on the logging as you suggested.  Thanks.

    Hi David

This sounds as though changes you make on the laptop are not actually being written to the database files on that laptop - which sounds like a serious problem.

    Is that actually the case?

That does seem to be the case, although it seems to be a very intermittent occurrence.  I had a funeral yesterday and the message updated perfectly as I changed it without my needed to click the sync icon.  I'm not sure what is causing this issue, but when it happens just before a service it is not good.

That's good to hear - in general, you shouldn't need to click the sync icon as sync takes place in the background.

So the concerning issue - to me - is that things you think you are writing to the Logos databases on your laptop aren't actually being saved there. It seems you became aware of the issue when things were not being synced to your mobile device but I would recommend you focus on the laptop issue first.

I would try and run some hardware diagnostics on your device to see if any errors are reported.
