Shortened footnotes when copying to Word Document?
Hi, I've been using Logos more regularly recently. Whenever I copy and paste part of a resource to a Word document, it automatically creates a full footnote, which is a great feature! Here is what I am wondering: is there a setting or way to have it create a shortened footnote upon quoting the resource further?

Hi Walker - and welcome to the forums

That's a fascinating question that I hadn't thought about before!
There isn't any setting to do this though - I guess the challenge in making this work properly was recognising that we might be working on multiple documents at the same time and would need the full footnote for the first time when citing a resource in each document.

It is an interesting idea, but not practical to implement. If FL were to create an actual word processor, it would be a feature I might expect. The issue would not simply be knowing when a resource is cited for the first time, but knowing which citation is first in the paper. The driving force would need to be the word processor, not Logos. For example, I don’t usually write my paper from front to back... and I swap sections as I edit.
It seems to me that I heard of some app to manage citations, but I don’t have enough of a reason to need that to investigate or invest in it.

Yeah that makes sense! I was unsure if Logos had a setting implemented where I could manually switch to shortened notes.
I've heard good things about Zotero, I was just looking for something more convenient before moving to use it or something similar. Thanks for the help!
