My Galaxy Tab S7+ just arrived today...!

...and I'm past the immediate set-up phase. Bought this primarily for reading Logos resources. I know it's overkill, but like one of the people said in the YT vids I watched to get it up and running, "Buy it nice, or buy it twice." That's sorta been my mantra with tech. Besides, got a great deal on Ebay--just $500 for a new 12.4"  6/128 model, which is a lot cheaper than the basic S7 price on Amazon or Best Buy. Anyway, I want to load L9 on it, and I'm not sure what to do. I tried the wiki and the link listed under Mobile Apps for "Logos Android and Kindle Fire" opens a page that says "page doesn't exist". So...

What do I need to do? Hep me, pleez!

You should find the Logos app in the Google PlayStore and should be able to install it from there

I hope that you were able to find the app on the Google Play Store as Graham suggested.

Don't forget that you can access the online version of the Logos desktop software at https://app.logos.com It's very much a limited version but, for some things, it's handy to have in addition to the mobile app.

Wishing you lots of fun and happy learning with your new device.

Thank you, but I doubt that is going to happen. I don't find the app--or tablets generally--to be very intuitive and I am constantly encountering situations where I feel stuck or don't know what to do to accomplish what I want. Is there a mobile app tutorial?

Thanks, again...been going through these. I am trying to make some Clippings of a book I'm reading, and besides the excerpt, I definitely--and by "definitely" I mean OBVIOUSLY--want to include basic, fundamental information such as page number, and well...EVERYTHING you are expected to include in a CITATION. Yet, bizarrely, I don't see any such info included in the clipping. Is it there but I'm overlooking it? It can't possible NOT be there, can it?

Assuming the absolute worst, and all the expected data is not included, I want to at least list the page # in the clipping's note section...so...how can I turn on the page # in the book I'm reading? I've looked for it but I can't find it.

If the page number is in the book - and if not “overshadowed” by some other index value it should be shown as per:

By “overshadowed” it seems that a Bible index (such as a verse) will take precedence over page numbers

From a quick test it looks as though the page number is added to the citation (it is visible when looking at the synced clipping on the desktop) - but the UI in the mobile apps does not display it.

I checked on the desktop app, and I see the citation for the book, but the page number is not included.

I am now having questions about the utility of Clippings. Is there an efficient and effective way of extracting the material saved and importing it into Word?

    Two things to check:

    • are their page numbers in the resource ?
    • are you using a style that has page numbers?

Yes. I turned them on using desktop app.

Not sure what you mean by "style".

Is there a way of downloading my entire library with one command? Please tell me it isn't entirely piecemeal.

    Citation style.

It can be set globally (on desktop) in Program Settings

or in an individual Clippings document

As you can see Turabian does not show page numbers

    while APA, for example, does:

Yes, but you shouldn’t. Many headaches and heartaches. It’s not worth it.

JT's advice is valid - particularly if you find you need to reinstall the app as all the resources would need to download again.

    However, it is possible

    • In the Library tab, tap the Select button at the top right
    • Here you can select the resources you want or tap Select All to choose them all
    • Then you will see three vertical icons at the bottom right of the screen - tap that to get a range of options including that of downloading resources you have selected

I ask because this past Sabbath I was at a location without wifi and even though I thought I had downloaded the lexicons I needed, I got a message that I didn't have the resources downloaded. I'll fiddle with it some before resorting to a total download.

I meant to post one set of instructions, but ended up being called away. Since I don't use android, I didn't know how it might or might not work for that version of the app. However, you <should> be able to manage downloads on your mobile device from your desktop app's library.

    1. Select the resources you want to download.

    2. Click on the "info" panel in the desktop library

    3. Check the box for the device you want the selected resources downloaded to.

You know, it would be nice if you could set downloads by resource type, particularly study helps such as lexicons. I know I don't need everything on my tablet...I probably haven't even opened 90% of the resources in my library. But I do need all of what I need so that I'm not throttled and restricted away from the internet.

    You can do that.

There is a small filter icon towards the top right of the Library pane.

Tap that and you will get the option of filtering by a range of things - including type.

If you use that to filter by lexicons, for example, when you get back to the Library pane you will just see lexicons. And then you can use the procedure above to select those and download them.

...and you can use Graham's method in the desktop app to control the downloads to your mobile device as well.

Going a step further, once you are able to determine the resources you are most likely to want to have downloaded permanently, you can create a tag on the desktop. If you need to reinstall or get a new device, this makes it easier to download everything again.

    Thanks, guys!

Also, Graham, turns out you were right about the style selection. Turns out SBL format doesn't include the p. #. Kinda strange, but I switched over to something that does, so I'm good to go. Thanks.

What I did with my iPad was (on the desktop) to tag everything I wanted on the iPad (lexicons, etc) from collections and then filter the library by that tag on my tablet, and then select "download all" for them. Not sure if it's slightly different on Android but it works pretty well for me as a way of managing it - I also used to use it for anything on a current reading plan but the reading plan changes in L9 have made that slightly redundant.
