Yesterday I downloaded Parsons Bible Atlas a book which I previously used in Wordsearch. There are no actual maps included in the book. It had them when I used it in Wordsearch. Has anyone else found this to be an issue?
Did it download as an eBook or a Logos Research edition - if the former, adjust your expectations and wait; if the latter, bring the error to the attention of Kyle.
From what I can tell it looks like the Bible Atlas is connected to "Bible Maps." Parson's Bible Maps is still in the progress of being available in Logos. I think Logos calls it "Parsons Bible Atlas maps."
It's an Ebook, which means it is still being developed fully into a Logos Research edition.
Why should users have to adjust their expectations all the time because you tell them to MJ. This is not simply good enough from FL, it is a clear lack of understanding of the WS product and clear lack of respect for WS users. A resource like this should never have been dropped in users libraries as a useless piece of garbage disconnected eBook file. FL have lost the plot when they think this is acceptable. Bob Pritchett is nowhere to be see. The man who said third parties would no longsr be allowed to produce Resources for Logos because of their poor quality signed off on filling user’s libraries with the worst poorest quality resources this company has ever produced. and are giving themselves a pat on the back for doing it. They should be ashamed. How long will users have to put up with this junk in our libraries before they are fixed and usable as they were in WS? Bob Pritchett whete are you hiding? You listened and stopped others from putting what were better quality resources than these into Logos but now you‘ve dropped those standards to absolute low and think it’s ok. Was it actually about the standard of resource or something else?
Ad for adjusting expectations how about you take a dose of your own medicine MJ and drop your pride in your mastery of Logic and adjust your expectations of other people. Are you willing to do that? Are you willing to practice what you preach?
Or how about you drop your expectations about Verbum what it offers and how much you pay for it? Are you willing to do that ? After all FL is calling the shots not you.
So stop telling other people to adjust their expectations when they want to raise an issue that they are not happy with what FL is putting in their librarie. They are customers of this company just as much as you are and they have a right to say Hey FL I am disappointed with how you have chosen to do this resource. Because you just as much as any other user gets on these forums and makes It clear what you are disappointed about with FL decisions.
FL have screwed up this WS resource conversion project, showed total disrespect to both WS users and the WS product by thinking it was appropriate to treat all the resources equally and dump them all as eBooks in the Logos environment without having any understanding of the resource. And they think doing so putting rubbish like this example is an acceptable way do win over the respect of new users to this company by treating the resources they are familiar with in such a disrespectful way, real people, not number, not dollar signs, and who are trying to get their head around new software let alone the different levels of resources FL and realise that, oh that‘s an wBook not a Logos Readers or Research edition so I should be a good little forum citizen and adjust my expectations like MJ the Logic Queen of the forums would tell me to do and put up with a dysfunctional resource for an unknown period of time and be so grateful for the situation after all I never asked for my software platform is choice to be taken away from me overnight as an ongoing choice for future purchases and long term use of my existing library.
Martha personally I have no issue with you expressing your expectations to FL, what you don’t like about FL decisions, whether or not they are of any importance to me. Please stop telling other people to change their expectations when they want to express what is important to them whether or not it’s important to you. Because right now you are displaying illogical behaviour with your display of defending FL on their decisions and telling people to accept them when you too post on these forums when you are not happy with a FL choice of how they do things or hos much they ask you to pay. And this from someone who prides themselves on their logic reasoning.
Why should users have to adjust their expectations all the time because you tell them to MJ.
They asked for help. I offered them help -- i.e. to take Faithlife at its word. They are free to take it or leave it.
Martha personally I have no issue with you expressing your expectations to FL,
I intended nothing about my own expectations - I intended to point to the expectations that Faithlife has set.
Our plan is to convert everything that's an eBook into either a Logos Reader edition or Logos Research edition. We've been prioritizing ones that fit better as Research editions.I apologize for the rough numbers but there were approximately 3000 titles that existed in WordSearch but didn't exist in the Logos eco system. As of today about 1800 of them are in the production pipeline. (This means they're either done, they're finished but still need to be made available, they're in progress, or they're scheduled to start production.) Currently the last of these are scheduled to return in mid-June and made available early to mid July. The remaining 1200ish titles will be put into the production pipeline in the coming months. It's looking like the remaining volumes of the Swindoll commentaries will be late-June, early-July.
You are still not listening, but I sm not surprised. It is you, not FL who responded in your own words telling another user to change their expectations without referencing anything FL said. You are defending FL for this absolutely unacceptable situation that reeks by your response instead of being helpfu. if you wanted to help you be bringing to the attention of FL users are not satisfied with what they are doing with WS resources rather than regurgitating the company line. By doing so you are painting yourself into a corner where they can just respond to your concerns with the company line instead of taking them on board. Why you can not see the bigger pict and are allowing yourself to become the puppet in this situation is beyond me. Fl had you where they want you , doing there bidding and creating an argument for them to ignore your expectation. FL 1 MJ -1 on all of your expectations you have posted about.
You like to think you a strong well reasoned I independent experienced thinker. You have just demonstrated otherwise.
FL have lowered their standards so low they should no longer be proudly pouting the Logos Advantage as a reason for their pricing. They seem to think now the competito market had shrunk again they can do what they like. You are reinforcing to them that belief with your ‘help’ to other users. We would still be in the dark ages if your approach to ‘help‘ was all that was offered in the past.

Dear P, I have made a sincere effort to learn to communicate with you since the days of the old boards, if I am correct as to your identity. I have not been able to find the magic formula nor have I discerned the reason behind your dislike of me. But I am sufficiently tired of trying to communicate with you only to be told that you know authorial intent better than the author. I believe it is in my best interest, and likely for the benefit of the forums as a whole, for me to simply quit reading or replying to your posts. Feel free to remind me if I accidentally respond to a post of yours. I wish you nothing but the best. MJ
I have no dislike of you MJ, only the way you choose to respond at times to people. There is no magic formula. I‘m a simple person. Alliow everyone to voice what’s important to them. Don’t tell them what is important to them is not of priority because it’s not important to you. And don’t tell them they have to change their expectations. And don’t put people down because they are not able to always express themselves in a manner that meets your expectations. Look beyond what you judge as inadequacies to get to the heart of what they are expressing / asking and respond to that alone.
I know more assume authorial intent than you do, and I no more call what I see as a spade a space than you do. Because of that you don’t know how to handle it. So you want to put up a wall or as they say today cancel me because I am honest with yo and like you in some respects, maybe more than we both want to admit. Your choice to bury your head in the sand rather than to take on board what has been said is your issue not mine. But we’ll meet in heaven someday and your won’t be able then to carry the grudge you know are holding tightly because I encouraged you to take a look at yourself and what you are really saying in some of your posts to others. May God richly bless you till that day we meet.
I encouraged you to take a look at yourself and what you are really saying in some of your posts to others.
Pot probably calling the Kettle black here.
But I have tried, where I disagree with the nuance of another's reply, to replay to the OP directly either with what I consider a better answer or at least a refined spin.
It seems to me that most disagreements on the forum happen when we think we are a white knight riding to the rescue of some poor hapless serf.
I thought I was just asking a simple question. I never intended it to create such a lively discussion. Maybe in time it will be worked out.
I’m definitely not a white knight Mike and I’m well aware of my short comings as a human being. No need to use tired cliches.
But I’m not the one who thinks it’s ok for me to call out FL on things I don’t like but tells other people they should change their expectations on things they don’t like and then say I’m being helpful. I’m not the one who post‘s book covers about the topic of logic or tells people it should be a pre-requisite reading for people. I’m not the one who tells people I don’t see their requests for changes to the software as not Important to me so they ate lower priority than mine.

Hi Ted. I'm sorry for causing confusion.
In WordSearch Parsons was divided into two resources, the Atlas and the Maps. The Atlas included Articles and links to the Maps resource. Our process has been to take files from WordSearch and run them through an automatic conversion that allows users to have access and then go back and update the resources. Over the next couple of months this will be updated and will point to the Map resource. At this time we're still waiting on files for the Maps and when we receive them the Map resource will be made available.
Thank you for your patience.
Well of course for one so erudite my cliches might appear to be tired - but for me, they are as fresh as a daisy on a summer day and I do so enjoy getting them out and giving them an airing.
But, feel free to call me out on things you don't like. I am sure that you are only being helpful.
I am sure that Ted really appreciated your intervention.
Is it well known that he is unable to reply on his own behalf should he feel the need?
My comments to MJ we’re about MJ, and had nothing to do with Ted. I was challenging MJ to take a good hard look at herself and the way she has responded over a long period of time. Since you like cliches, they are your love language, I’ll put it this way so you understand: If it makes you feel good keep flinging the mud my way because the thing is the mud had to come from somewhere and your going to fall into deeper into the hole your digging to source that mud.
And while your falling into that hole it doesn’t change the fact FL have chosen to fail to take the time to understand WS resources, failed to show them proper respect, thought they could break all the long standing quality standards they set and say justify their pricing and simply turn the whole WS catalog into e-books and dump them full of flaws into users libraries as useless placeholders until they get around to working out what they are and then treating them with respect and converting them into the format they should have held back and done so in the first place with the correct indexing, tagging and metadata.
But back to that hole you started digging in a previous post. You assumed my authorial intent - something Martha tried to accuse me of in her attempts to deflect the attention off her many responses over time that set a standard for others she doesn’t follow herself. You decided my intent was to be a White Knight for someone I did not and have not mentioned though you chose to make the centre of your attempt at satire. Some of that mud your flingin, while your getting deeper in the hole is falling back on you. i have no idea of your intent but you are posting like someone trying to be a White Knight so just in case that is what you are doing I leave you with a thought from a wise man who said from experience he has learned the following from experience:
“It seems to me that most disagreements on the forum happen when we think we are a white knight riding to the rescue of some poor hapless serf.”
I think his name was Binks, yes that’s it Mike Binks.
I’m definitely not a white knight Mike and I’m well aware of my short comings as a human being. No need to use tired cliches. What a great business deal FL have signed up for .... your still missing files. But that’s ok knowing that and knowing you have orphaned files like this one missing it’s companion file you still we t ahead and released it into users libraries as a useless paperweight that‘s not much good for anything beyond a basic search and is going to cause confusion despite you not meaning to do so. Haven’t you already released enough of these garbage files to realise you are going to cause confusion or maybe your ignoring the questions and complaints on the forums from former WS users. It’s full steam ahead for FL despite the user feedback. User feedback is not important, after all they are nothing more than the ones who pay you and without them you‘ll get more done.
So what’s the plan if these missing files don’t turn up? When are you going to fully disclose all the missing files to users or are you going to hide them under the status conversion not yet started? is that what it means if a resource is not yet started?
Logos Bible Software once did a great job at producing high quality resources. Then along came FL and the standards have been in free fall as the company stretches itself into areas beyond its core in order to try and take a piece of every part of the church budget, FL even wanted in on our private lives and wanted to setup Tinder for Christian Singles at one point.
Sure well be patient Kyle while FL continue to put screwed up resources and metadata in our libraries,
I thought I was just asking a simple question.
You were. [:)] I hope Kyle's post above resolved it for you. If not, please ask again or ask a follow up.
what’s the plan if these missing files don’t turn up?
Intriguing question for Faithlife: dreaming of Wordsearch FAQ about "My Books and Content" update => https://www.logos.com/wordsearch-faq
Thankful for Wordsearch Bible Software thread => WordSearch Books need major editing now including bi-weekly updates of completed Logos Research Edition completions. Both Amazing (many done) and Frustrating (many remain). Noted "Parsons Bible Atlas" was included in the eBook batch release on 13 Apr 2021 (implies relatively recent transfer of files for automated eBook conversion)
Hindsight 20/20 for Faithlife would have been a bit better communication about when to expect quality conversion of WordSearch resources into Logos Research Editions (end of 2020 was months ago).
Haven’t you already released enough of these garbage files to realise you are going to cause confusion or maybe your ignoring the questions and complaints on the forums from former WS users. It’s full steam ahead for FL despite the user feedback.
Another hindsight 20/20 idea is splitting "Download New Resources" program settings into:
For automated eBook conversions that are annoying (or effectively useless), suggest creating a thread in => Wordsearch Bible Software illustrating eBook issue(s) as automated conversion has a number of improvement opportunities, followed by using Library to remove eBook download.
What a great business deal FL have signed up for .... your still missing files.
How does expressing anger (sarcasm) in complaints actually help anyone use Logos Bible Software ? Do you want Faithlife to go out of business ? (get rid of a complaint source)
Honestly could answer questions: What can be improved ? OR What lacks usability ? (while leaving out angry accusations)
Keep Smiling [:)]
Why should users have to adjust their expectations all the time because you tell them to MJ. They asked for help. I offered them help -- i.e. to take Faithlife at its word. They are free to take it or leave it.
MJ certainly does not need my defense. Still, I would just like to say that every comment she has ever made in these forums has been helpful to others. Her advice is very sound. I appreciate her contributions to discussions.
Mike there is no question about her genuine help. It's golden when she is on song. What's at question is the way she chooses to offer that help and they way she speaks down to people at times. I have been honest and pointed out some painful truths. If MJ can't back what she gives out, she should not tell people to change their expecations, particularly while at the same time in other posts she demands answers from FL herself.
MJ is far from being a poor hleps serf so maybe you should have reflected on Mike Binks statement and not injected yourself something MJ has already chossen to walk away.

on what basis are you reading that intent into anything I have said ? MJ certainly doesn't agree with making comments like you just did there.
you know authorial intent better than the author.
And while your busy assuming authorial intent you made other assumptions and gone off on a tagent with your response.
Thankful for Wordsearch Bible Software thread => WordSearch Books need major editing now including bi-weekly updates of completed Logos Research Edition completions. Both Amazing (many done) and Frustrating (many remain).
Where did I question FL's communcaiton of what they were doing? I questioned and have on other occasions questioned there overall approach to this project, that has nothing to do with their communicaiton. But lets reflect on it, we have this thread because someone was confused about the conversion of a former WS resource, and its certainly no the first time nor last time we will see this sort of question so even though they have made a good fist of communicating throught the process they chose, people still do not fully understand what FL are doing.
But back to your assumption that I'm speakign in anger, I've honsetly communicated by what is offensive about MJ's repsonses on occasions, I honestly given feedback on FL's acitons. If you want to confuse the passion with which i express my feedback with anger i have no idea how you make that leap. MJ gives here honest feeback about FL when it suit her... see below.
And I've made no accusations simply reflected back a question to a FL employee who said files where not in their possession. I think its a fair question FL now needs to properly answer to all for WS customers that this emplyoee has let the cat out of the bag that everything still hasn't been handed over.
Maybe you should reflect upon Mike Binks statement below. What are your adding by interjecting into something MJ has already chosen to walk away from?

Your words in reply => https://community.logos.com/forums/p/200250/1162518.aspx#1162518 to Kyle Anderson, which was the entire focus of my reply (was not replying to/about anything else). My communication quoting style has your words first (for context) followed by my reply. Intentionally did not quote your words that read to me as expressing anger since sadly those words do not help anyone using Faithlife software and services. Including speculation about Faithlife corporate priorities causing resource migration & quality drop did not help anyone (actually conflates "Parsons Bible Atlas" resource issue with corporate work by different employees, which are two different issues).
Thankful for Bob Pritchett, CEO, starting thread => The future of Logos and Faithlife: Help us make the right decisions! on 21 Jun 2019 to discuss recent Faithlife corporate priorities.

Sadly angry words hurt others, which discourages forum participation by more paying customers that would be helpful.
Concur honest user feedback using kind words is greatly appreciated. Speculating why something is not working the way you desire (e.g. garbage files) does not help.

At the moment your words are unhelpful. I was asking questions, seeking clarity on other files that may not yet be in FL’s possession and we as users could know that. You persist in thinking you know my intent and know I was responding in anger. I continue to reject that because you are far from the truth. That’s fine, Continue to be waste your time if it makes you feel justified in your mind but it changes nothing, I‘m not going to hold it against you or say I’m going to not respond to you in the future.

Thank you for your thoughtful analysis.
My comments to MJ we're about MJ, and had nothing to do with Ted. I was challenging MJ to take a good hard look at herself and the way she has responded over a long period of time.
I have to muse, (mostly because musing doesn't require a response) as to why a post that was a reply to the OP was the appropriate place for such a challenge from anything other than Knight of some description.
You decided my intent was to be a White Knight for someone I did not and have not mentioned though you chose to make the centre of your attempt at satire.
So, trying to unpick this exchange; the OP asked a question, there was a response.
Rather than provide an alternative response nuanced in a way one thought kinder and more helpful; the appropriate action was to criticise the person making the response.
It would seem, from the explanation that The rationale for that criticism was that responses to other posts, in other threads, and at other times, had irritated in some way; and it was decided that this thread was the appropriate time and place for an analysis of another member's way of expression.
Even if what was written was correct in fact, I fail to follow the logic.
If you want to confuse the passion with which i express my feedback with anger i have no idea how you make that leap.
I would genuinely appreciate knowing what emotion "the passion with which [you] express [your] feedback with" is. I would rather not attempt to guess.
We agree FL clarity about Wordsearch resource migration progress would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately forum word posting does not communicate the rest of the story. Honest feedback is your passionate expressions are being received by a number of FL users as angry (regardless of what you intended). If we were talking in a living room, how your words are spoken plus body language would better communicate your intent. Laughter is good medicine when everyone is laughing. Thankful for a couple forum posters passionately helping use Faithlife software and services with kind, humorous expressions. [8-|]
To ihe white knights who want to keep dragging this out I’ve said what I said, I stabs by mr belief that Martha speaks inappropriately at times to people, that she places standards upon others she then fails to follow herself. i stand by belief FL has seriously got it wrong in how they have gone about the conversion of WS resources into the Logos environmen. Thsy should not have gone and dumped every WS resource into users libraries auto converted eBooks. I stand by the fact that FL now has questions it needs to answer about the whole process given a FL employee clearly said in this thread that the are still waiting on a file they have not receive. How many more are they waiting on and what happens if we are three, six moths or twelve months down the track amd the files have still not been given to them.
i remain bemused you all think it’s ok to assume my intent even though Martha was clear thas an error she seemed to think I was making. II remain bemused one of you is doing the exact opposite of what you advised and the rest of you are ignoring that advice and you are continuing as self-appointed white knights.
Phil Gons has made it clear in the past all feedback is welcome yet some of you think only feedback that you approve of is welcome. You may like to think I have to justify my feedback to you since you are self-appointed white knights.
But while you want to continue to want to prolong this thread all you are doing is giving me an audience to keep bringing up both Martha amd FL’s and what I believe they have done wrong. But I think I’ve made that clear enough for now, particularly in regards to Martha so I’m not going to keep feeding your needs I am not angry with anyone despite some of you seeming to be so wanting to say I am. I am greatly disappointed in what FL has becom, of standards they once set being thrown aside. I am disappointed for Martha she can’t see what she is doing in the thay she wants to bury her head in the sand. Look forward to discussing other topics with you all in other threads. For me is way past my bedtime so I’ll bid you Goodnight.
Thanks so much Kyle for your response. That is good for me.

Phil Gons has made it clear in the past all feedback is welcome yet some of you think only feedback that you approve of is welcome.
All feedback for Faithlife, including constructive negative feedback of Faithlife's practices and quality of work, is welcome.
Offering a gracious correction when another forum member is factually in error is also welcome.
Criticizing a fellow forum member for their opinion, publicly challenging their character or intelligence, or otherwise crossing the line to taking a personal tone, is emphatically not welcome.
I’m not going to keep feeding your needs... Look forward to discussing other topics with you all in other threads.
Disciple, I trust that your statement still stands, and nothing further needs to be said on the matter. I hope that this reminder will serve as a guide for all users about the tone we strive to keep on these forums.
I have said all that needed to be said to others Adam but now I have FL’s attention some truths need to be said about this thread to FL:
1. If FL were consistent in their application of quality standards we would not have this thread. FL stopped third party creation of resources due to poor complaints from users over poor quality and now here they are dumping the worst quality resources I ever seen in this software for an unknown period of time including in this case a resource for which they have said they don’t have the companion product files to complete it correctly. Two products that in the WS environment worker together seamlessly.
2. The only persons character that was at issue in this thread is mine. What was called out is the rude an inconsistent manner in which one of your MVP’s at times chooses to respond to people with. Telling people they have to change their expectations rudeness plain and simple. It is made worse when it’s clear that same person in other threads is not willing to change their expectations. That rudeness is made worse when that said person harps on about their superior logic or what’s important to them is not rated highly by the said MVP.
I am willing to have my character called to question rather burying my head in the sand and not calling out these things. If FL wants to avoid these sort of posts happening they need to tell their MVP’s to stop responding to people in this manner and they need to get back to their core business of producing the high quality resources rather than what they are doing at the moment with WS resources.
Thank you for your time Adam.

I agree that it's time to move on to other topics, but since it continues to be reported, I feel compelled to comment.
Thank you Kyle! I was looking at this resource and scratching my head but now it makes sense.
delete, because I found the better thread. Thanks!
Your WS products and their progress should be listed here. https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/library-migration
It has been one year now and the Parsons Atlas and Maps are still two separate books not at all linked together. I would think that this conversion should have already happened. Is it still a work in progress?

Not surprised FL has not delivered on this Ted, they like to take the moral high ground when people call them out for their failure to live up to user expectations and promises they make to customers but actions speak louder than words and their failure to deliver on getting this resource and other WS resources right, dropping poor quality resources full of errors into users libraries, is just another example of how they have botched the WS conversion because they failed to understand the WS product and that user wanted was what the interface provided, they did not care about the individual files hidden in the background that the user had no sight or awareness about. But that happens when you take over a competitor and shut them down over night with no warning to their customers and you fail to do the groundwork and get to know those customers and expectations and needs and instead just do it 'your own way', after all the executives sitting in an office disconnected from the user knows better than the user what the user wants - or at least they think they do.
This is such a cool picture. For me, it will suffice until the maps show up.
Would love to see the quality/resolution of the Parsons maps improved.
I see what you mean about the photos. However, the Maps being merged to the Atlas would be good. From the looks of the Atlas there are a lot of in-line item that have no link. I just can't see that a year later it has not been done.
Amen and Amen!!
I cannot understand why Christians keep on and on and on, as if they must have the last word.
What happened to "love one another"?
Just please stop these disputes which should not be aired publicly.
