Many times I have wished to highlight footnotes, especially longer ones that have technical explanations. Does anyone remember the reason why this can't be done? Is there a way to allow this in the future?
Have thought the same thing numerous times- hope they answer.
I agree. I wish this could be done.
I think that the limitations of footnotes extend to more than just highlights. Would be great if that changed.
I have commented for years that this would be a great thing.
same here. I think it requires an overhaul of the way footnotes are stored in Logos. There's at least one feedback item for this to vote on: https://feedback.faithlife.com/boards/logos-desktop-app/posts/allow-adding-notes-and-highlights-in-footnotes
EDIT: it's even in the top ten most-voted enhancements, but could use more votes and comments, as it has been flagged "needs your opinion" by FL.

I missed this but now I have voted. It would be great if more of us could vote for this. Any takers?
Added my vote. Now at 51.
One of the things that I think can't be done with footnotes is word studies. Same thing with the preambles of the Psalms, which is particularly egregious since the "preambles" are actually Verse 1 in Hebrew. The preambles should be fully searchable in Logos. In fact, they should be treated as regular text, and perhaps even designated as Verse 0 for search purposes, if that's possible.

I just tried Ps 3 in the NRSV and had no problem initiating a BWS on "Absalom" so I think I misunderstood you. I also matched it in a search - it showed as Ps 3:title. Could you post a screen shot of what isn't working?
Perhaps they fixed the problem already. If so, great.

It's a technical limitation due to a combination of the way footnotes are encoded in Logos resources and how notes/highlights record the range of text they are attached to.
Is there a way to allow this in the future?
It will require software development work to solve that limitation.
We know this is a popular request, but it's not an easy fix. It's something we do revisit periodically when discussing priorities for the next release.

Is there a way to dev. a ''duplicate the footnote'' beside the original?? Then one can highlight the duplicate as normal Logos material. And add a note to the duplicate, as well.

Thanks Bradley. I was pretty sure it would require some major software improvements. Glad that it is continuing to be discussed as obviously there is a lot of interest in being able to do this in the future.
Added my vote.
This can kind of be done by creating a clipping note.

Thanks, JT.
