Work computer, Phil?
Phil
You're going to have to state how many resources and what your machine specs are! Just bragging doesn't do it for me!

Hi Phil,
With over 1200 posts each, it's hopeless for most of us to catch Philip & Tom. Looks like you're the only one I could catch--and then only if I work really hard at it!

It's as easy as the art of fluff, my friend. Take this post for instance :-)
It's as easy as the art of fluff,
Rats! You've already figured out my strategy!
Nah, it can't be - apparently he doesn't do any work on it, he hasn't got any results in his own documents.
Work computer with the demo license and 10,546 resources.
The specs of the computer itself aren't all that impressive: E6750 Core 2 Duo at 2.66GHz with 8GB of RAM running Vista Business 64-bit and a WEI of 3.9.
Phil,
I gotta know ... because it's my favorite test of obscurity... do you have the atlas book of model railroads on there?
Running on Parallels 5:

Did somebody reset your counter, Bill?
I do indeed.
Interesting. I had heard that Parallels 5 was much faster than Fusion 3, but I am using Fusion 2. My results appear to be a little better than yours
On second thought, maybe they are about the same.
Running Parallels 5 - Vista
Ran again a newly open L4 Beta 2, Parallels 5 XP (the previous post was Beta 1) I like the direction this is going.
From home with my personal license:
That's good Robert - can you change Phil's to his real machine and maybe put Logos.com down for the work machine....
On an Acer 7730 laptop with 4GB Ram, Intel duo core T5870 with integrated video
So, I guess this means now I have to convince the college that this means I have to upgrade.
"But, I've just got to be able to find all the "the's" in under 30 seconds!!!"
Happy Thanksgiving to y'all down south of me (Oz is SW of me.)
Chris
What this shows is that everybody on the planet has more resources than I do!
Don't worry. Resource counts have no bearing on our entrance to heaven. Hopefully God doesn't say "how many 'the's' were in your resources?"

Preview of an upcoming Beta build?
Home computer. 1,270 resources. Using latest public release (SR7)...no beta.
It seemed too impressive - then I looked at the scores again.....
It is a mighty fast search - I can't get mine in less than 25 seconds. What are the computer specs...?
Sorry, Bob
16, 041, 577 results in 19.2s with 877 resources
And I just Upgraded!
Parallels 5, Windows 7, Beta 2, 2 of 4 gigs assigned, both cores enabled, MacBook Pro.
I might have to unhide all those resources by Pink and the Targums just to get a better "the" count (note: the abbreviation is "tc" and I thought his first name was Thomas!)
I would primarily attribute the speed to the SSD:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 @ 4.00GHz / 4 GB RAM @ 1600MHz / Windows 7 32bit / Intel X25-M G2 SSD
I've added a "few" [:)] more books to my library and it has really "slowed" [;)] down the search.
That's a shame[:P]
If you spend more CASH, your resource count goes up!!!
HOWEVER, I just tried this search for "the" and got 20M in 35 seconds, but a 2nd time, only 15 seconds. The power of CACHE!!! [co]

1 second faster after reboot (11.65 sec):
I have 21,842508 in 16.46 secs.
I just wanted to post this to thank Logos. I am running this on a 9 year old laptop.
Windows XP Media Center
Pentium 4 3.0 gHz, (with virtual dual core)
2 gig RAM
64MB Video RAM
80GB 5400rpm hard-drive
This is an extensive search, with a lot of hits. It handled it well for as old as it is. Overall, I find that it works well for Logos 4. Though it is not the fastest machine, it does well. I understand that the programming is video intensive, and some older systems do not handle it well, but this old system is doing well, while running multiple programs. Thank you, Logos for a great program!

thou shalst not lead me into computer envy..
From my desktop:
This is rather weird. I got better times with 2 gig of RAM than with 3.
Two gig: 0.09, 0.94, 18.50
Three gig: 0.38, 1.31, 19.84
Figure that one out. Resource numbers were the same as were the number of hits. In each case I killed all unnecessary services and programs prior to running the test.
Nice! 3.56 million hits per second. What ya got under the hood. [8-|]
