BUG: Hebrew Audio Pronunciations
Hello all,
The Hebrew Audio Pronunciations feature seems to have stopped working in Logos. The audio icon is there to click on but there is no sound. The Greek version of this feature is working fine.
Interestingly the Hebrew Audio Pronunciations product which like many I purchased on PrePrub a few years ago is not something I can find in my Library but this product page confirms I own it already here
Hebrew Audio Pronunciations | Logos Bible Software
My question to the community, are you experiencing the same issue? My question to Logos, can this be fixed, please?
Thanks
Clint

It is not a resource like a book or even an audiobook, so it will not appear in your library. See this link: https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015515972
Which resource are you trying to use it in?

The Hebrew audio is working fine for me. (I tested using the context menu and the Bible Word Study)
Have you tried restarting Logos/your computer?

Hi JT, I appreciate that, I really just wanted to let you all know the steps I took to attempt to resolve this myself.
I am just attempting to use it in the way I have used it for the past few years in the Word Study tool where an audio icon comes up next to a Hebrew word like "emet". Usually, when I click on that icon the word is pronounced (powered by the Hebrew pronunciation data set / resource). The bug is that it is not working anymore. The Greek equivalent is still working fine.

While others are correct in saying it is not a resource that shows up in your library, it is part of a tool you can open from the TOOLS menu. In the menu scroll down to the heading lookup and then expand that section. Here you can find the Pronunciation Tool.
The tool will open and depending upon what you have purchased you can choose from the drop down menu which 'language' you want to use in the tool. The word list will populate and you can use the find box to locate a specific word you want to listen to its pronunciation. Is Hebrew Lemma showing up as an option for you ?
The other thing you could check is open up the About Logos Bible Software dialog from the program Help Menu (three stacked dots on far right hand side of screen next to the icon showing our picture).
In bottom left hand side of this dialog is a scrollable section. Use the scroll bar till you come to the section labelled Pronounciation.
Check the list of items for which you have a licences.
Is DB:HEBREW-PRONOUNCIATIONS-BUTH listed?
Below this will be the timestamp and file name.

Thank you, have done and sent them logs etc too, they seem stumped too... may need to uninstall fully and reinstall over night

Even uninstalling Logos and reinstalling has not solved this. I will try a deeper uninstall as it seemed to hold onto my credentials when I reinstalled Logos

Also worth noting the feature still works fine on my iPad. Seems its just a bug on my PC installation of Logos

Deleting the app engine is rarely a fix for anything… to really uninstall, you need to delete the dB files, etc.
Did you speak on the phone with FL?

Hi JT,
Yes, I did a full uninstall this morning where I went and deleted the Logos folder in AppData too. The library got quite big over the years so it's busy indexing the 18k+ resources now. I'm going to try one more time when this fresh install is finished. Will post the result.
I'm working with them by email as in the UK.
Thanks again for your support here, great to see how the community pulls together, I'm not on here much but really appreciate the responsiveness of you all.
God bless
Clint

Hey JT, indexing finished... and it is still not working even after the full reinstall (folders deleted etc). It a frustrating bug for me. I'm not sure what else to try. As mentioned before Greek works and both Greek and Hebrew work on my iPad.
I do hope they can reach out to me on here or via email.
Thanks again, brother.

Could you post your logs to this thread? Maybe one of the techie forum users can figure it out.

Hey all, good news, its working
I just got of the phone with Jacob form Logos Support. Really helpful, he pointed us in the right direction by looking at the sound devices on my set up, for some reason the pronunciation sounds only were not playing correctly through my AMP and DAC which is a Sound Blaster X3. It did however play through the Laptop Speakers when we selected those.
It was strange that other sounds form Logs and all other media played through the X3 fine. We eventually Restored the X3 sound device in Windows to default and everything worked fine. So mystery solved.
My 9 year old son was playing a game I installed for him on the machine for the first time on a public holiday we had on Monday so it maybe that the game somehow changed the sound settings.
Thanks again all for all your, help, guidance and support.
God bless
Clint
