How to automatically indicate in the biblical text that I highlighted a pertinent resource?

I am reading through commentaries and would like my highlights to put an icon in the biblical text, so that when I am reading the Bible, there is an indication (perhaps an icon) in the text that I highlighted a pertinent passage in a commentary or resource. Is it necessary to create an anchor, or is there a way to automate this? I do a lot of highlighting and do not want to stop each time to create an anchor. What am I missing?

    Hi!

    so that when I am reading the Bible, there is an indication (perhaps an icon) in the text that I highlighted a pertinent passage in a commentary or resource. Is it necessary to create an anchor, or is there a way to automate this?

    I think you would have to create an anchor each time.

    What I do instead is to search my highlights for the passage that I am studying:

    <Ref> WITHIN {Highlight *}

    You will need to remember to include Bible verses in your highlights, so the search will pick it up. But this would be quicker than creating an anchor each time.

    I know it's not as obvious as having an icon by each verse in your Bible, but it doesn't clutter the Bible text with note icons.

    I know it's not what you wanted, but maybe it can help.

    Thank you, Levi! That's a very helpful reply. I'm a newbie in Logos, so your suggestion is new to me and will work fine. Thanks so much!

    I would create a Note by Reference (select the reference in the right-click Context menu). You can choose the color/shape of the Note icon, which would appear in all your Bibles (and other commentaries). You can choose a Highlight style (in Notes tool) but it will affect a lot of text in a commentary (default is no highlight style with a Note).
