When I click on a word to get its dictionary definition the lookup popup gives me an error message stating that I don’t have a dictionary loaded. (See image)  I checked for loaded dictionaries and there are 2, New Oxford and Apple dictionaries Installed on my device.
I am using an iPad Air with iOS 14.5.1 and I performed a reboot. Nothing changed. I am using Logos 9.

Help would be appreciated!

Welcome! [:)] I dont know how much help I can be, but I get the ball rolling.

    I am using Logos 9.

That doesn't tell us which version of the mobile app you are running. which specific version of the engine do you have installed? Do you own the full feature set OR do you have a faithlife connect subscription?

When I click on a word to get its dictionary definition the lookup popup gives me an error message

Which specific resource? Are you online or offline when doing so?

This is a response from iOS saying it can't find the selection, "merisms" listed in the iOS dictionaries you have installed on your phone so you should try installing a different available dictionary (IOS SETTINGS->GENERAL->DICTIONARIES).

I have had this happen from time to time and overcome it by reselecting the word without the "s" selected, so in this instance select only "merism", and then a result is found. However I just tried it in this instance and just selecting "merism" and no result was found.

So in these instances where a result can not be found in one of the system dictionaries, I move on from the Lookup command and choose the search option, a little bit less inconvenient as it opens a new window but it brings up search results and the definition of the word I'm looking is then found. In this case Logos Search can handle the term "merisms" and returns dictionary entries for "merism".

    Thanks for the feed back.
Based on your input I did find that certain words don’t have definition or the plural of the word isn’t recognized, which is why the error message appears.
