shortcut bar and "take a note" / "delete notes and highlights"

I usually highlight and put my thoughts down relating to the highlighted portion using "take notes". This requires 2 clicks: Right click first and then hit "take a note." Is there a shortcut icon I place on the shortcut folder so that I can take my notes with 1 click on the icon?

Same 2-click problem is there when I want to "delete notes and highlights." It would be nice to make it 1 click using a shortcut icon?

You may wonder what is the big deal of an extra click. But I take a lot of notes as I read.

Thanks

You could turn on the selection menu, it gives access to the six last used highlights as well as "take a note" and delete note/highlight.

Thanks a lot Nick. What you're suggesting sure looks like an answer for me.

I've gone and searched within Forum (site:community.logos.com) how to turn on "selection menu" but couldn't find an answer. Could you please give me some pointers?

    Thanks

One of my recent tip posts was on the selection menu. It is in program settings (application menu kebab on the extreme right) -- next to last entry under Text Display section.

Thank you MJ and Nick. Much appreciated. I have been using it to "take a note." My "delete notes" is much less frequent, so it is not showing up now. But that's ok.

Good to hear it's working for you!

Just select some arbitrary text and highlight it (by the way: I most often don't use either menu but have assigned a shortcut key to highlights, such as Y to yellow, G to green...). Then select it again, the selection menu will now show a grey strike-through-circle at the right end of the buttons, this is the "delete note/highlight": it's only showing up when there is something to delete.

Thank you Mick. Yes, it looks like the selection menu is smart and shows the "delete note" only when we have a selected an highlight. Very helpful. Thanks.

Thank you also for shortcut tip for highlighting. I appreciate you sneaking it in. Normally, such tips would have helped me, but this highlighting shortcut is probably one of the few things I learnt early on given how much I like to highlight!
