Copy Bible Text style is synced between computers - does it need to be?
I've noticed recently that the style selected in the Copy Bible Text Tool is synchronised between computers. I assume this has been the case for a long time but I've only recently started noticing it.
I would normally prefer that this is not synched as I have a particular format I use on one of my computers each day and can often not notice that it has been changed by selecting a different style on another one.
Do you, in general, find this particularly synchronisation helpful?
If the general view is that this is not helpful, I will make a suggestion that it is changed.
If the general view is that it is helpful, I will take more care to note what setting is in place!
Thoughts appreciated, Graham

I would expect it to be synced just as I expect all of my preferences to be synced.

Is it sync'd when CBV is included in both layouts, as opposed to being started from Tools menu? What if started as a shortcut or from Favorites?

The scenario I normally see is that I have a fairly standard layout on my MacBook - including the CBV tool - which I use each day for a daily Bible reading. This is set to Copy Bible Text only.
Earlier today, I open the CBV tool - using Ctrl-Alt-B on my Windows 10 computer - and copied some text using a custom style I have created.
Later I noticed that the style setting had been changed on my MacBook.
I haven’t really explored other scenarios but can do that if you think the behaviour might vary.

When it changed, was the app active and CBV in the layout?
Once embedded, I was able to maintain 3 different CBV styles in 3 different named Layouts (1x Verbum 9, 2x Logos 9 on two Win 10 computers).
I load Most Recent layout - Local, but the style changed after I restarted one installation.
I will provide a bug report, but I would like your feedback

I will check and get back to you but at the moment I am getting sync errors on two different computers so wouldn't like to guarantee reliability of sync operations just now!

Per your bug report, I was getting the guide template error, but I had 'fixed' it to be sure of my observations above i.e. no sync errors during that time.

Hi Dave
Apologies but I can't reproduce this at the moment - changing CBV settings on one computer do not cause a change on another one.
This may be related to the sync problem we were discussing in another thread.

changing CBV settings on one computer do not cause a change on another one.
I thought this was what you wanted to achieve (the guide template sync issue should not affect CBV sync).

It is - but it wasn’t happening before and so I assumed the sync issue was preventing the CBV sync to occur.

Check Logos.log immediately after style change in CBV. Any sync errors will be obvious and clearly named i.e. PreferencesSyncItem applies to CBV
