EDITING BIBLE READING CALENDAR IN A MAC LAPTOP

Hi, I recently switched from Windows to Mac, and I noticed that I missed my daily reading for one day, so I decided to push my calendar one day later in order to catch up, but I noticed that I couldn't check off my calendar for today (that would automatically check off every day before that).

It just wouldn't let me do it. The only way for me to do it is to go back to the beginning and check off one day at a time until I catch up to today. 

I never had this kind of problem in Windows. Am I missing something here?
