Congratulations on 30 years

I read earlier that today is the 30th anniversary of Logos. I can't think of any other resource that has helped me more in the last decade. I started using it in fall 2014, six months after becoming a youth pastor. Now, about 1/2 through an Mdiv, I can’t imagine writing papers without it.
I hope that one day there will be a little book or documentary about the role of Logos and technology from a Christian perspective—like a Christian version of Walter Isaacson's Geniuses series. Congratulations, Mr Pritchett.

Well done to Mr. Pritchett and all the faithful servants who have worked with him through these three tumultuous decades!

Most definitely, thanks to Bob and the Faithlife team for a most excellent biblical resource. As they say “you’ve come a long way”.

Good catch, Tony!
Gee ... I'm only a 50%'er. Not even an inductee into the Logosian Old Timers Club (they talk about how it USED to be). Or the Logosians Gone to Heaven Club (not so many, but happily remembered).

I was younger then and Logos pricing was so inaccessible. All I could do was droll over catalogs, like some people drool over computer or clothing catalogs. Heh. But here I am. I've got a nice library I'm happy with now. Since they started offering "Basic" free versions awhile back, it started small and built a large library over time.

I've been using it for these 30 years. I started alpha testing it for Bob & Kiernon while we all were still working at Microsoft, while they were still doing it as a side project in their spare time, before they left MS to start their own company. It's way better now than it was then, and most of their code has been rewritten from the ground up multiple times, but it still has their mark on it.

Wow, congratulations to Bob and everyone who has worked on Logos, bravo!
And the good news is that after 30 years, I'm over 98% finished indexing. I kid, I kid...

Cool. So you all started at Microsoft? No wonder why it took so long to get this on my Mac [:P]

Congratulations and thanks to Bob and FL!
Should there not be a "Timeline Event" for such an important date? There are several for the first blog post of the Logos, Vyrso and Proclaim blog...

Well, I feel naïve. My first experience with Logos came in 2006 or 2007 with remaindered software in an overstock store. I had assumed it was a fairly new company.
I do wonder how my life would have been different if I had chose a different product instead (I was looking for software with the NAB on it) [:)]

Congratulations to Logos and Faithlife. I am fairly a newbie, maybe a sophomore by now, LOL. I think I started with Logos 6.
Thanks for an awesome product and a depleted bank account. LOL!

I am extremely thankful to Faithlife and Bob for bringing us this very important tool for Scripture research and study. I started using LLS towards the very late 1990s (floppy disks!), and then the Libronix DLS.
Thanks Faithlife for more than 20 years of help!

Congratulations FL on 30 years, I am very thankful for this resource that you have built. My wife chides me frequently about this being an addiction but I find the tools you provide to be invaluable. Thanks for sticking to the vision of this company!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Somehow I had missed that this was the 30th anniversary. I wasn't there from the beginning but it wasn't long afterwards.

I do not go back 30 years with Logos Bible Software, but I do go back to 1992 or 1993. I had the old CDWORD from Dallas Theological Seminary, and Logos offered CDWORD customers the opportunity to upgrade to Logos at that time. I did so, and I never regretted it. So, I suppose I have been a Logos customer for 28 plus years now.
All I can say, it "Thanks!" Logos Bible Software has always been a wonderful product, and it continues to get better.

Congratulations to FL/Logos upon completing your first 30 years (may it be many, many more 30's). I initially bought into Logos when I saw a Scholars package for sale on eBay 16 years ago. Almost immediately after that purchase, I upgraded via CD's to L3 Gold. I have never regretted getting started in the journey through the various "levels".
I used WORDsearch before getting into Logos, and still use it occasionally, because there were resources that were not available in Logos. Last fall, my "dream" came true that my two libraries would be merged into one. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thanks for the kind words and congratulations! It's hard to believe it's been so long (and even longer, since I wrote my first DOS-based Bible search program in 1986 -- in high school!).
It's continues to be a great blessing to serve so many kind and enthusiastic users, and to have so many of you who've been using Logos for so many years.

Congratulations and appreciation from a newish user (considering the 30-year history). Logos has continued improving and breaking new ground, especially in its mobile app, which is far and away the best currently.

I saw a copy of a Tweet mentioning the there are over 6 million having a FL account. It means one account per 1300 in the world population.

Someone contacted us about a history of Bible software they were working on, but I don't recall seeing anything come from it. I'll have to check my email archives.
In the meantime, John Dyer has built this timeline: https://j.hn/the-history-of-bible-software-infographic/ and there is a Wikipedia page on the subject: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblical_software
There are also pages on Logos Bible Software (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logos_Bible_Software) and Faithlife (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faithlife_Corporation).
Do you have any historical perspective on Bible software? It would be great to capture it online and enhance these resources, before we all forget it. :-)

Congratulations Bob and everyone at Faithlife on 30 years. When you first launched, it definitely was "by faith." Who could have imagined then where Bible software and the company are now. We're grateful for your contribution to God's kingdom work. I've benefited so greatly!

Thank You Faithlife! Your software has changed my life. Reading, Studying, Teaching and Giving Sermons.
I remember back in the early days I used QuickVerse that came on floppy disks before the internet, because I could not afford Libronix. I stayed with the QuickVerse software even after it was bought out by WordSearch which I had also, but finally I looked into Logos (L5 I think) and found that it was far superior software, just what I was looking for. That's when everything changed for me. Ironically QucikVerse/WordSearch is now part of Logos Faithlife family. I have bought and tried all the different Bible Software products out there and there is none that compares to Logos. Not even close! Not even that other brand that starts with an "A". Logos is so complex that you can only use the parts that you can understand but that is enough to make it worth it for anyone at any level.
People complain about paying this much money for Bible Software! I say, what is that compared to an investment in Salvation? Not only your salvation but others as well.
Thanks again Logos, and Congratulations [^] on 30 years and may God bless Faithlife with at least 30 more years, but as for me I hope we are in the Kingdom by then. He is coming soon!!! John 14:2-3

I'm a little late to this party, but I have been using Logos for about 7 years now. I initially started with Logos 5 Gold when I began seminary at MBTS, and I cannot imagine having finished my master's without it. It saved at least 15 hours of my time each week. Now, as a pastor, I use it almost daily in my studies and preparations.
Thank you, Bob and all of Faithlife, for what you have made! You truly work heartily unto the Lord with this product, and I cannot praise God and thank you all enough for this work. Congrats on 30 years (and a week)!

I'll add my congratulations to the mix. Thank you to all the wonderful Faithlife/Logos employees, developers, and users over the years who have each contributed to the success of this Bible study software. I started with Libronix (version 2 then 3; affectionately known as "Libby" to some) which I was blessed to acquire from Bible college. Logos has been a blessing in my studies.

We all got a surprise $20 coupon a couple of weeks ago. I doubt seriously we will see anything else for a while. I have been wondering if they sent it out as the anniversary coupon but just said thank you and not in celebration of 30 years. I wouldn't count on another one.

ok, thanks for the clarification. I got the $20 coupon but the original post said $30 which caused me to wonder if there was something else available.

I think it was just surmised that since we got $20 on the 20th anniversary we might get $30 on 30th anniversary. I wondered at the time if we were not thinking about the one we already got.

Should I add that the the 25th anniversary coupon was $25?

I was just surmising. I honestly don't remember. For myself, I kind of thought the $20 we already got was it. If we get another $30, that would be nice, but I wasn't expecting it.
