Sometimes I only want to launch Logos to read...no search, no reports, no study, just read.

I suggest at some point a Logos Lite option be included that would just allow us to open into a reader window with limited functionality until the whole app is launched...that way RAM and processing power could be kept to a minimum, which would be a plus on older machines, and we can still access our library.

Yes, I was writing about it few times already (even before V4). I think it might be solved in connection to the future iPhone (other eBook readers) application. It would be enough IMHO to have reading in 2 columns, scalable font size, Visual Markups and probably notes. Of course remembering the last position. For just reading the Bible or some book, it would be just the best. Good suggestion Jacob.

two columns on an iphone/ipod touch would be very narrow...

[:)] of course, but two columns would be very useful on the notebook version of the reader (as we have it in the MS Word). I use it every Sunday while preaching.

I'm just asking...wouldn't just having a "reading layout" do the same thing? Logos opens...1 click...bam...you're reading.

I made an ESV "full size window" layout.

From the time I clicked the Logos Icon till i was reading it was 22 seconds.

I realize that Logos is running fully but without mouse clicking and stuff, my CPU is at 5%.

    Just a thought...

Anything what would help reading Bible or books in 2 columns mode would work for me. Separate "lighter" version of reader would help quick start of reading on netbooks and similar systems.

On my desktop, absolutely. On my netbook not even close. I just launched and time from launch til I had my book in front of me was 1 minute and 10 seconds.
