Creating a note in One Bible creates several Random note Icons in the other Bibles.
Today I was marking the 10 Plagues of Egypt in my notes making a different note for each of the 10 Plagues of Egypt. I was using the KJV 1900 Bible but then opened the ESV to see the Pericopes for the 10 Plagues. I noticed that for each of the notes I created in the KJV 1900 Bible (10 note files, one for each Plague) I could see several note Icons in the selected text for the note anchor, in the ESV and every other Bible, all with the same Icon used (Red Triangle) to signify that they were all notes on the 10 Plagues.
I tried it again but this time I used the ESV to create a couple of notes and found out that the ESV had only a single note for each anchor selection, but now the KJV 1900, and every other Bible opened had multiple notes for the selected text in the note anchor.
Do I have a setting wrong or is this a bug? Does anybody know why Logos does this?

Each of the note Icons (Red Triangle) indicates it is a note from the Ninth plague in Topic - Plagues notebook. If I look in the note file there is only one entry for each anchor. See the Screenshot below.

From the entry in your note you have used the text of Ex 10:21-29 to anchor the note
Looking at verse 21 - in both translations - you can see that the word the has been added, it is not translating an original language term.
The way this feature works - notes created against text being replicated in other versified resources - is by using the underlying reverse interlinears and mapping across original language terms. Whenever a new section starts (as is the case when English words without underlying original language terms appear) a new notes icon is inserted.
If you used the reference as an anchor - instead of the actual text - you would not see this.
But when creating Highlights (as opposed to notes by reference) there is nothing we can do to change this behaviour.

Thanks Graham, I tested it and it works. But now I have to use references instead of selected text. That is OK for most things but there is the occasion when selected text is needed. When I need to only make a note on only a portion of the text I cannot unless I don't mind getting these additional markers.
What is your strategy to get around this and be able to use selected text? Do I limit my use of selected text to only a word or two without the added words in the text?
What do others do keeping this problem in mind?
Does Logos intend to fix this problem with software or programming? It seems like a basic problem that needs to be overcome.

I don't actually do all that much highlighting so haven't really tried to get round it I'm afraid

That would work - but I understand it might not provide what you want

I don't know if there are any plans to address this - it has been this way since the feature was introduced a long time ago
I think it is actually quite a difficult problem to solve as they are using the underlying original language to map to different translations that handle the text differently.
