Resource Links on Mac
It is quite easy to create a link from a NOTE to another resource in Logos, also to create a similar link to a document and a web site in both Windows and mac.
However on a Mac is it possible to create a link from a NOTE to a Word or pdf document? It is possible in Windows, but I have not been able to find a way to accomplish this on a Mac.

Short answer, no, Logos on the Mac does not support this (at least from what I tested).
Long answer, the Mac platform supports this, but apps have different ways of handling the link. Here's how to get the link:
1. In Finder, right-click the file you want to link to
2. When the menu pops up, hold down the option key. The menu changes
3. Click copy as pathname
4. In your writing application, create a link by selecting the text you want to use as a link and pressing cmd-k (usually this is the shortcut)
5. In the link box, type "file://" and then paste the pathname from the clipboard. You end up with a link like this:file:///Users/username/Desktop/test.txt
Again, each app handles the link differently. Some apps only open finder. Others open the document in the default app.

Thanks Paul, I was able to create the link to a file (I tried Word, Excel & pdf) as per you points in the Logos NOTE and the word in the NOTE was highlighted as if it was a link, however when I clicked on that word the document did not open. I am wondering if I have missed something?0

I'm pretty sure modern OS and browser versions on Windows don't support the file:\\... syntax anymore, due to security considerations, and it might well be (of course I don't know) that the same is true for Macs

Your experience is the same as mine. The link in Logos APPEARS to be a link, but nothing happens when you click it. Hovering over the link reveals the path, but clicking it does nothing.I tested creating links to files within a few other Mac apps just to see the results.
TextEdit - opens file if txt or opens file in finder if pdf.
Craft - same experience as Logos
Ulysses - Does not reveal path & more difficult link to manage, but it does follow the link to finder when cmd-click
Word/Excel - There might be a security setting to change, but for me Word pops up a security message to "Grant File Access" where I have to click on the file to give permission to access it. I did not investigate.
DEVONthink - complex program, but links work as you would expect. Can create files in rich text, markdown, plain text, etc. and each option may handle the link differently
Obsidian - opens the file in default app (requires cmd-click if file name has spaces)It appears that the file:/// link protocol is not handled the same way universally across all Mac apps. It would be nice if it were.
For several reasons, I use Obsidian for notes instead of Logos. This is one of those reasons. I like the speed & ease of creating & accessing links.

This can be done in iWork I do not know about MS Office. Here's how:
- Open the document you wish to share (this can be done for an apple note or folder in notes as well.)
- Click on the collaborate icon at top.
- Choose anyone with link on the "Who can access: menu
- Click the share button at the bottom
- Once it finishes setting up click on collaborate icon once again
- Click send link
- Select the copy link icon
- Go paste it in the Logos note.
You can also share folders from Finder the same way. So you could link a folder to a note. You do this by right clicking on the folder and selecting share. After that it is the same process.
