Highlighting cannot be removed

Hello,

I've followed the specific instructions in the Help category (see below) to no end, unfortunately: I have a rebellious paragraph that cannot be reset, no matter what.

The paragraph in question is much longer than the attached visual.

I've noticed that progressive layers of highlighting are added when different choices are selected. It's truly an odd experience.

My Desktop version is 9.5.0.0019. If anyone can help, I'd be grateful.

I can't see the visual you mentioned - can you try uploading again using the paperclip icon?

I've uninstalled the Desktop version, in a futile hope that the problem will disappear; alas, it's still there. The attachment comes from the WEB App.

Please try deselecting the Highlights option just to check that removes it - I'm trying to make totally sure this is a highlight and not anything else.

Please reinstall the app. In general, deleting / restinalling won't affect issues like this and it will be much easier to diagnose on the desktop app

Indeed. In general, uninstalling and reinstalling rarely fixes problems in Logos/Verbum, and in almost all of the rare instances that it actually does fix a problem, there's at least one much faster way of fixing.

I managed to understand the problem, by investigating the Android (mobile app).

By highlighting, I added multiple layers anchored one on top of the other (I cannot explain the concept of anchoring as applied to Logos; it baffles me). It seems that, rather than overwriting the previous highlighting, Logos added another layer on top of the existing ones. It's a strange behavior with obvious consequences.

Anyhow, I deleted about 20 "anchors" and managed to restate the text to its original "shape" (for lack of a better word).

This exercise taught me not to try highlighting in Logos again, lest I spend my time highlighting/un-highlighting, rather than bringing the Word of God in me. And this is what we need after all.

Users would be upset if successive highlights deleted previous ones. They can be managed via the Notes tool (Type > Highlights) because you can edit the separate Highlights that are at the same location.
