Another issue with Mobile for Android - Search Not Working
Is there known issues with the search feature on the android app? I can search relatively quickly in my own Bible (NKJV). But whenever I switch to a book or dictionary or encyclopedia it just says "loading results" and has a spinning circle after that. But it never loads anything. Is there some sort of indexing process that I need to do first before search will work properly? Please don't tell me that searching anything other than a single Bible requires an internet connection...... I just installed this on a new Samsung Galaxy A21 phone with Android.

So if I select a word from a bible or a book and choose "search" from the popup menu, a new search tab opens and the results are immediately displayed. This is for a single word or a highlighted phrase.
But, say I wanted to look up "sons of God" but accidently selected "the sons of God" for the search. it would open a new window and immediately provide the results with "the" included and without the quotes. But I only want "sons of God with the quotes (exact phrase without "the"). If I try to change the search criteria and rerun the search from that same window, then I get the "loading results..." nonsense.
This means at least not all searches are hamstringed. But rarely do I search a single word and since I have to use smart selection to make up for the inability to actually select a given text, it will be nearly impossible to select a phrase such as "sons of God" without it automatically selecting the "the" in front of it.
So, was this designed this way? Or am I doing something wrong here?

I know the fuzzy searches are run on Logos servers, but if I disconnect from the internet and then select a word in LOGOS, choose search, it brings up a new tab and provides immediate search results. It does not provide the Fuzzy Search results and has a yellow ribbon that says some searches aren't available offline.
So the "verses" search must work offline or I wouldn't get any results while disconnected. My issue is: why doesn't search work from within the actual search tab itself?
If I am looking at a bible text tab, then choose the search button at the bottom menu, it opens a new search tab with nothing in the search box. I type in "love" but and hit enter, but all it does is say "loading results..." If I am in Romans 5:8 and select "love" then choose search from the popup menu, I get a new search tab with instant results (online or offline).
Is there any way to get the same immediate return of search results from the manual entry of a word or phrase as I get from the context search?

Well, first, the developer could easily enough, adjust the menu choices, when the unit is offline ... it easily detects online. But that's pretty much FL.
But secondly, your experience reflects the apps ability to only search one resource offline. If you're in a Bible, it knows 'that' Bible. Elsewise, you have to go to the menu, and choose 'Select a Resource' (that's downloaded).

I'm thinking this is something else entirely. I've tried searching both a single resource and a collection. At first I thought it was having difficulty searching a large collection. But when I tried searching a single book, and then a very small book, it had the same behavior.
If I do an inline search from a text (bible or book) it provides a new tab with immediate results. But, if I use the search button at the bottom of any window or try to alter the search criteria in an existing search window, it does not provide results, just displays the message I mentioned.
There is something wrong with the search
feature when trying to search independently from a particular text.

Hmmm. JT and I are on ios. You are probably right. I specifically tried a search ffrom a downloaded, not displayed hefty volume, while offline. The results were quite fast.

This is very bizzarre behavior. Say I'm in a Bible tab and I click on the search icon at the bottom. I enter the phrase "order of melchizedek" in quotes and run a search on all resources. I'm assuming it's searching just downloaded titles, but it could be searching everything in my library (about 2000 titles). This took about 2 + hours running in the background, but I finally got the results. Now I can go through and select any individual resource and the results will instantaneously appear. I'm assuming they are in some sort of index now. Plus, it is "stored" in the search history and this returns results immediately.
But, if I repeat this process, selecting only one title, it behaves as if it's again searching all resources, even though I have only one resource selected. I'm wondering if every search is taking so long because the system does not detect which title I actually want to search, but is instead always searching all of my titles (2000). This would explain why it takes so long.
When selecting just one resource, it only shows results for that resource. So it could just be a problem in the initial searching and not the results being displayed.
