Logos Bible quit unexpectedly
I have been using Logos Bible for some years now. I use it on my Windows 10 Pro desktop computer and lately on my MacBook Air M1, for the first time but I am not unfamiliar with macOS. Using it on Windows is fine without any glitches.
On my MacBook, Logos Bible version 9.6.0 (0040) is not useful at all because each time I highlight a word or some words in the reading view and the moment I move and click the mouse pointer outside of the highlight, it crashes and closes unexpectedly. I have tried holding down the Command key while clicking Logos to open the application but that does not work because it shows the Application folder instead.
There are other methods to trouble-shoot this, but I do not want to install any logger or go through the process since I am not too excitedly about installing applications which I do not need eventually.
I am using my MacBook of 8GB RAM without any accessories. Are there anyone here experiencing this?

Welcome velochrome,

You are using Reading View (OPT+Shift+R), do you use a shortcut to apply the highlight?
Do you have this problem when highlighting in the resource panel?
What version of the MacOS?
I have tried holding down the Command key while clicking Logos to open the application but that does not work because it shows the Application folder instead.
To enable temporary logging, click the Logos icon in the dock and then immediately press and hold the Cmd key until the Sign In window appears (the order is important). Reproduce the problem then upload the zipped log files folder using the paperclip icon.

Hello Dave,
Thank you very much for replying.
- I am using macOS 11.4.
- I tried that Command thingy several times but it still behaved the way I described above.
- Not a big deal since on Windows 10, Logos Bible works without any surprises.
- Error is is the same even when using other resources
- I use Olive Tree too and it works just as well on both Windows 10 and macOS.
Best regards,
ck

The purpose of logging is not to fix the problem. It is to allow the techies and developers to “see” what is happening to cause your issue. They are able to do so through the logs.

Hello JT,
I installed the desktop app and now Logos Bible macOS looks exactly like Windows 10. Thank you so much once again.
Best regards,

Hello Dave,
Thank you for your kind attention. I learnt how silly I was not knowing I am using the mobile app version. Everything on Logos Bible desktop app is working as it should without a hitch.
Best regards,
